[QUOTE]Heavy gunfire and explosions have rocked Burundi's capital Bujumbura a day after a senior army officer said he had dismissed the country's president following weeks of protests over a controversial third term, our correspondent has said.
"We understand military factions loyal to the president are fighting those loyal to the coup leader," Al Jazeera's Malcolm Webb, reporting from Bujumbura, said.
"An independent TV station called Renaissance was attacked and burnt overnight," our correspondent said.

Apparently the leaders of the coup have been arrested.

A shame, I guess the country's going the way of the Dictator now.
For those wondering, Burundi's current president stated he was running for office for a 3rd term, which is illegal there. The military seems divided on the issue and it's a clusterfuck in general.

Great title for a ninja dictatorship movie.
I'm probably dumb, but I haven't heard of this country before
