The nonpartisan advisory council of 25 private-sector business and labor leaders was first convened in February 2011. It has met just four times since then to generate ideas for boosting job growth, most recently at the White House last January.
"It was a two-year charter" when the Council was formed, said White House spokesman Jay Carney, "and the charter has expired."
Doesn't sound like they did their job. At all. You have a two year contract and you don't even meet for a year of it? Come on.
Between gun legislation, immigration legislation, all the new cabinet positions to confirm in the Senate, the new deal for the fiscal cliff/ debt ceiling, and the day to day running of the government duties between the President and Congress, how does anything get done, and where does job friendly legislation fit in? Shouldn't they calm down for a second, line up their agendas, and then tackle the issues one by one? They have 4 years (2 for Congress) to meet their goals. I wish I could confidently say that if Congress would do their jobs ethically and correctly that their election wouldn't require their ultimate attention, but that isn't realistic as power and being the winner in all things is more important than actually doing the job they were sent to do.

It just barely gets done if it's very important and they have a deadline. If not, it'll get shelved indefinitely. If it's important but requires a lot of time and work, then they'll invent a fake issue, write up some worthless legislation that "solves" it, and call it a day.
Oh, and if all else fails, scapegoat the opposing party and use that to fuel your campaign so you can get reelected to sit around and look busy without actually doing anything.
