I feel like TB is repeating himself a lot in this video because there isn't a whole lot to say.
Yeh, his only major gripe is the boring side mission/unlock feature. And he goes on about it for the full 60 minutes.
I heard lack of coop and lack of significant advancement from the previous game in there somewhere.
It's a good fun game. Going to have to see how long it lasts but I'm fucking loving it.
looks ite
It's the same thing as Just Cause 2, just in a different setting and with better visuals. And honestly, I don't really consider that a bad thing. I mean, let's face it. Nobody played JC2 for its story and side missions, they played it because of its huge world that was ripe with physics shit to fuck around with, grapple tethering and parachute grappling being huge draws for the game. Outside of making an officially supported multiplayer mode (akin to JC2 MP), I really don't think there's much more that Avalanche could've done to enhance JC2's winning formula. The only real sort of fuck up Avalanche did was locking the upgrades for the grapple hook behind the uninteresting side missions, or in fact, putting in an upgrade system at all. The most fun part of JC2 was coming up with all sorts of insane strategies with the all the crazy tools you had at your disposal, and putting a limit on that at all just sort of kills that. So far, I think it's a fun game. It's honestly a very shallow experience (just like JC2), but every hour or two I spent in JC2 when I did play it was much more fun than any other open world game.
Seems like it has the same problems I had with Just Cause 2, which was that everything got old really fast.
i'm probably alone in this but I feel like one of my biggest gripes in just cause is that it's so easy to pull off super cool badass explosion stuff 24/7 that it just doesn't feel satisfying to do it
Apparently this runs like shit or is unplayable for a large portion of AMD users. I'd hold off if you're like me
I am shocked that with how much of a success the multiplayer mod for Just Cause 2 was that they wouldn't try and implement it here...
when the whole game consists of a few main missions and a large expansive world full of boring sidestuff, thats kinda the only thing to talk about
Probably going to wait until this 50% off to pick it up then. My main complaint from the last one was there being no reason to explore.
Felt the exact same opinion about Just Cause 2. Maybe I'm just not that big of a fan of open-world games but Just Cause 2 was extremely boring. I wanted to unlock more stuff and do some more of those crazy missions but the game just prevented me from doing that. That said, 3 seems near identical so I don't think I'm going to ever get it.
It is disappointing because of how much more fun this would be with local coop
I am shocked that with how much of a success the multiplayer mod for Just Cause 2 was that they wouldn't try and implement it here...
Thats exactly what i thought, whats the point in an aircraft that can hold 10 vehicles if you cant drop 10 friends in tanks with boosters on the back out of it to attack a military base.
So far, Avalanche stated that MP isn't avaliable from the start given that they want to focus first on developing content for the SP experience, and then handle the mod tools to the community, and then consider developing an official MP for it. wich is kinda funny, considering JC2's SP was never complete and its absolutely imposible to 100%(without the help of a mod) given that there are some collectibles that were never implemented in the final game.
when the whole game consists of a few main missions and a large expansive world full of boring sidestuff, thats kinda the only thing to talk about
i've got to say, just cause 2 was the first game where the sidestuff interested me i couldn't care less about it in games like farcry or even gta (san andreas mostly) but destroying shit was a lot of fun in jc
I am shocked that with how much of a success the multiplayer mod for Just Cause 2 was that they wouldn't try and implement it here...
They apparently wanted to focus more on having a high quality single player campaign, but unfortunately, nobody cared about the single player campaign in JC2. They keep saying that they wouldn't implement it "at launch" though, so maybe that means it might be something added later.
In the FAQ on the Steam forums for the game, Avalanche have pretty much stated that the game won't be getting modding tools. They will allow and even help to promote and support mods though. And while that means that there will probably be potential for another MP mod for the game, I'm sort of on the doubtful side of that. JC2 MP was fun, but most people just installed it, fucked around for a bit (maybe even typed in the super shitty chat), and then stopped playing it. As such, I don't see the team putting in so much work again for such a relatively low result.
Those challenges really put me off. They look like a massive chore.
Those challenges really put me off. They look like a massive chore.
Same here, they look really disappointing and unimaginative and pretty much forced if you want the fun bits. Driving/flying through circles is dawn of gaming levels of lazy. Should've at least had a few AI opponents you could race or even attack during the challenges.
People complained jc2 didn't have enough stuff beyond blowing shit up. They added a ton of challenges and events and random world stuff and people still say it's not enough I really don't know what people would want out of a destructive playground

People would want something fun and with a bit more depth than that. It's not hard to understand at all, no idea why you're struggling here.
I wouldn't mind the game being filled with boring minigames if I wasn't forced to do them to unlock stuff.
Driving through circles is so cheap it'd be better if they didn't have that at all. People would want something fun and with a bit more depth than that. It's not hard to understand at all, no idea why you're struggling here.
because I'm playing the game and having fun doing what it gave me to do? I'm not sure why you're saying I can't be having that fun. Like by your definition, any driving game is boring and shallow and worthless to you. Any game where you have to go in a direction. Boring. The wingsuit challenges? Totally boring, for you, for me, it's not, but you're the one saying it's not fun and there's no depth to the game. I get that because I've played the game, I don't actually get to say anything without just being called a fanboy, but it's not what you're making it out to be.
It is disappointing because of how much more fun this would be with local coop
LOCAL coop? Do you know any open world videogame in the existence that actually had a local coop except for San Andreas on the PS2?
LOCAL coop? Do you know any open world videogame in the existence that actually had a local coop except for San Andreas on the PS2?
Console version of minecraft.
I feel like TB is repeating himself a lot in this video because there isn't a whole lot to say.
Do you find that ironic: TB repeating that JC3 is repetitive for 50 minutes?
Do you find that ironic: TB repeating that JC3 is repetitive for 50 minutes?
How very meta of him.
racing challenges in open world games with little to no emphasis on vehicular play do not belong in those games why should i be forced to play w/ your poorly handling cars in the game where the best way to get around is either through fast travel, flying in a straight line with a jet, or via grapplehook and parachute/wingsuit combos [editline]1st December 2015[/editline] idk more destructable objects and more cool ways of destroying them more interesting gameplay challenges and an indepth upgrade system for all of the systems involved there was a little game that came out a while ago on the xbox and ps2, you may have heard of it mercenaries: playground of destruction not only had a shitload of different ways to blow shit up, but also a shitload of things to blow up in general (see: every building ever) as well as a way to play nonlethally for extra money i don't really see the fun in jc3 when most of it consists of "wingsuit here, shoot at the objects marked in red, disregard enemies unless your sponge is getting too bullet ridden, hold e a few times, done" you could argue "you're playing the game wrong you should be using the grapples and whatnot" but i'd say that having 50 ways to destroy a tower with the most efficient way to do it being to shoot it with a machinegun is just bad design this is exactly what most ubisoft open world games are criticized heavily for, and i see avalanche going down that route with this and mad max, 200 ways to do 1 thing that could be done effectively in 1 easy way
So I should be blowing up all the homes of civilians to make this a good enough game for you? There's a million ways to blow things up so how is that not covered? There's an upgrading system, but you're saying it's not good enough because you have to do things? Like okay guy. The driving is actually fun now though and you don't HAVE to do it if you don't want to at all. I just feel like it's a better game than you let on, but what the fuck do I know, I'm only playing it.

I wouldn't trust your review over a review like TB or credible gaming sites since I know that naturally you're going to enjoy it regardless of its actual merits of a game.
