Sup everyone.
Here's my project: http://www.ambrosiawheels.com/category/dead-wood-collection
I've been making bamboo sunglasses with TAC polarized lenses and I'm taking pre-orders to fund the production.
We've had this idea because I have a longboard wheel brand and I've noticed that all the boardshops I've been to have these expensive plastic sunglasses. I've decided to offer an ecological alternative when big compagnies mass producing plastic shades.
How do you like them? I'd lke to hear your opinion.
Thanks.
They look really cool! Definitely better than plastic ones imo.
That's awesome!
i think i like shwoods more, but for the price these are killer.
Those are some sexy sunglasses.
They are not making them, they are just buying them from China and slapping a name on them and calling them their own. Just a waste.
There's 247 pages show up when you search 'bamboo sunglasses' on alibaba.

For example.
Average price of around $10 a pair, order in large quantities and you could get that down to a lower average, Shipping from my experience for sunglasses from China is extremely reasonable so I'd suspect that's $30-40 profit on each pair, just for acting as a middle man.
Want bamboo sunglasses? Just order them from Alibaba or Aliexpress yourself and save the money.

Nice observation, Sherlock.
Alright, lets pretend that wayfarer and such models template files aren't readily available on the internet.
That we didn't approach a workshop around our province to do our cuts and engravement with their laser machine and to sand the frames ( as we can't affort these tools, I'm a 22 years old student ).
Etc.
If you want to order sub-par chinese sunglasses on aliexpress, go for it.
You joined a forum, or created a new user to post in a DIY section pitching your product. If you posted under a name with a little credibility and actually showed pictures of the production, and talked about it that's a different story. I'm all for making money, but this doesn't feel totally honest. If your glasses are made in Canada, you should have that on your site, that's something to be proud of.
Hell, if you're getting them from China, etching in some logos and keeping good on the QC, nothing wrong with that. That's what 95% of the fashion industry does, just brand an already existing product with something compelling and hit the marketing hard. I'm all for that, just be upfront about it or show the production process, because without that, without pictures of design or fabrication, this doesn't fit very well here in this section in my opinion. They look exactly like Oaken glasses out of Qianshan, they even come with free custom engraving.
Again, if that's the case, just be straight up. I'd love to talk about experiences with Chinese suppliers, I've got many stories about my dealings with Alibaba. Nothing wrong with making some money.
Might just be a UK thing but your company name just reminds me of:

The glasses do look good though even if they are knock offs, so good luck with it.
