So, used games can play on PS4. How is that?"
Confirmed: PlayStation 4 will play used games
it's pretty sad that things like this need to be confirmed rather than expected
they'd be stupid not to
it's pretty sad that things like this need to be confirmed rather than expected
the only reason it needs to be confirmed is because of people overreacting to nothing but rumors and farts in the wind
Why is this even news, it should be norm
Sony wins automatically in my book.
Seems cool. So far I'm leaning towards the PS4 if I ever do decide to pick up a console again.
I'm just gonna pick up a PS3 with a low price at some point, possibly even used and play some PS3 classics.

Same here. Anyone have a good idea of the release month/day? (im lazy, indulge me)
Now to learn if it will have any games at all.

For the PS4? Rumors are flying around saying Holiday 2013.
PS4 so far has ticked a lot of boxes for me but i really want to see the console

and the price

It's not really a rumor when "Holidays 2013" showed up at the end of the conference.

I must of missed that part. My mistake.
Despite this I reckon the trend of activation codes for the online portion of the game will continue
Anyone who believed this would happen because 'anonymous sources' said so is way too fucking naive anyway.

It wouldn't have surprised me if it was true, given the way things are going at the moment.
If the Xbox blocks used games it'll be dead
shit yo pants Ballmer

My fear is that Xbox really turns into this extremely casual entertainment box instead of a power house gaming box like the PS4 currently.
Well maybe this will nudge MS to announce the same/change their minds if any of the hype is true
I've never considered buying a playstation before but it looks like I'll be buying a PS4 this time round unless microsoft pulls something out of the bag that's amazing.

The next Xbox will play used games, won't need to be always online, and won't be called the 720.
Just saying.
I can't think of anyway Microsoft could convince me to buy the next Xbox cause...
A.) They already stated they want to focus more on entertainment then games
B.) What exclusives does Microsoft really heave left worth playing other then Halo?

Honestly something like this is probably in MS's and sony's best interests, assuming this works in the most ideal way possible
Microsoft has an entertainment box that happens to play games, Sony is all about the games, the game service, a strong social suite built right in for that, etc. Meanwhile MS's might be a cheaper console that plays games well, but is more or less an advanced Roku box of sorts.
In the ideal world, this would be "good" because it means now MS and Sony aren't directly competiting for the same market. Of course in real world scenario this likely wont happen exactly like that.
MS for sure will be pushing an entertainment box of sorts. Sort of like a hybrid between a game console and a roku box. Because to them thats the best way to get ahold of the casual market while still appealing to gamers. Casual market families will want the xbox because of friendly and easy to use streaming capabilities/entertainment, maybe even as a replacement for cable entirely. The gamers will still get some good games out of it too.
We'll see though. I doubt they can strike a balance to the point where it has a strong game offering and a strong "roku box" like presense that it'll make sense for dedicated hardcore gamers to get it and dedicated non-gamers to get it.

how is that a fear
everyone who's shitty moves to the shitty console with the "entertainment" and halo
everyone cool accepts the PS4 as the master race and Kaz as the savior of console-kind
I can still play my beloved HL1 for the PS2 on the PS4.
PS4
