This was actually in Wolfenstein: TNO although they never stated it because [sp]because at one part of the game you're inside one of the trains heading to Berlin[/sp]

But in reality I doubt they're very practical to build or operate since we have trains that travel faster than the speed of sound now. It's just another example of one of the radical, but extremely unrealistic ideas that Hitler had for a post-war world where Germany won the war, I mean imagine what kind of damage that a train of that size derailing would cause and how long it would take to clear it off the tracks to re-continue service not to mention the operating prices for keeping the trains running and the tracks and other infrastructure maintained defiantly with the distances that they were planning to lay the tracks for these over.
