George Osborne has told the BBC he will put an extra £2bn into frontline health services across the UK.
The chancellor said the money was a "down payment" on a plan drawn up by NHS bosses calling for an extra £8bn a year above inflation by 2020.
jee thanks.
This is a good thing... right?

It should be. Then a lot of confusing started by Labour asking where the government would get this money from, then pledged an extra £2.5 billion on top of this without explaining how they would do it.

That's politics for you. Everyone's a liar!
I wish people would stop talking down the NHS, the problems with it are very localised and in general it's actually doing fine.

it's literally the only thing the people can be proud of tbh; yes there are problems but these are mainly due to lack of funds.

The only problem is staff shortages and a lack of British people willing to go into nursing or midwifery. But that's an actual problem - nobody can 'fix' those issues before an election - the only way to fix it is by 'efficiency savings' and 'reorganization'.

That's how we've been doing things in the US for decades. It's worked out perfectly and we have no problems whatsoever. :eng101:

I really dont see the problem with the NHS, I might be missing out on something I didnt know, or localised problems like you said, but those with long term illnesses seriously benefit from it. I'd be fucked without it personally.
