So just last night, not sure what time, I was longboarding a bit with my older brother. It had been the first time I got him to go in a while and from what I can remember was pretty happy about this. But, only about 20 minutes into our small excursion around our hometown things went awry. I can't recall much, but we came upon my favorite hill, smooth, very new black top, and a perfect slope to enjoy. According to my brother I began down it with some sharp carves to pick up speed, then as I neared the bottom I hit a wet spot and my board flew out from under me. I smacked the back of my head against the ground and skidded backwards. After going to the hospital and fighting six nurses with all my strength (I was in blind rage and pain since the accident) I found out I only have some moderate scrapes and a concussion. So I was wondering, can I, a 16 year old, smoke so soon after enduring this or should I give it up for a week or so and just deal with hurting and being nauseous?
P.S. If you board at all, helmet, don't be an idiot. I was/am.
I'd smoke if I were you, but that's just me.
we are not doctors, we have no fucking idea.
all of us will say smoke anyway.
but weed is a vaso dilator which means it causes blood vessels to get bigger.
might exacerbate (fancy funny sounding word for "to make worse") your problem in the long run but then again i don't know shit.
weed is the best medicine imo...
also should have worn a helmet
it makes your fucking vessels get bigger slowing down the flow of blood, which is good when you have an injury
smoke dank ass shit all day every day and you should be straight
it may cause swollen parts to get aggravated.
you're worrying about nothing to be honest.. worry about your concussion and not getting another one - not whether getting high will make it worse (because it won't)
I have to ask, does anyone have any supporting facts? I'm just trying to play it safe. I may just wait and ask the neurological psychiatrist, I just don't want him to spew mouthfuls of lies at me. Either way I may just wait another week.
My cousin Steve got into a major motorcycle accident, he was practically retarded at first when he came out of his concussion, and they told him to not drink or smoke for a year.
Keep in mind, he got REALLY fucked up. I saw him at a family reunion about 3 months ago and he would repeat the same things.
Poor guy :smith:
I've never had a concussion, but one time I did pretend to have a concussion - and marijuana sure helped a lot with that.
