The sequel to 2010’s Tron: Legacy will be filmed in Vancouver beginning this fall.
According to Vancity Buzz entertainment contributor Lindsay Barker, Walt Disney Pictures has green lighted the third film in the Tron series. Filming is scheduled to begin on October 5, 2015.
The project has been in development since the success of the 2010 film, which raked in $400 million with a $170 million budget.
At this time, only Garrett Hedlund has been confirmed to return to the cast. In the previous film, Hedlund starred as Sam Flynn, the son of the 1982 film’s original character Kevin Flynn (played by Jeff Bridges) who became stuck in the Grid’s digital world for two decades. The character Quorra, a skilled Grid warrior and confidante to Kevin, was portrayed by Olivia Wilde.
A majority of Tron: Legacy was shot at Canadian Motion Picture Park in Burnaby while some ‘real world’ scenes were filmed at the Shangri-La Vancouver Hotel (ENCOM headquarters), the Lions Gate Bridge (final escape scene) and neighbourhoods in East Vancouver.
Can't wait.
I'd love to get another Daft Punk soundtrack from it as well
Soundtrack by Daft Punk again or bust
Tron 3: Daft Punk Redux
I feel like I'm one of a few people who actually enjoyed Legacy, will be good to see this film come back. Hopefully Jeff Bridges too, won't be the same without him.
I loved Legacy, so if 3 has the same kind of cool CG and excellent soundtrack, they have my money.
I thought Legacy was good. It was what I wanted from a Tron movie, don't know what people expected. Too much hype?
Legacy was okay. It seemed as though it wanted to meld modern actiony stuff with that 80's tech philosophy, and it did so a little clumsily.
While tron legacy had a average story, I very much enjoyed the visual porn and draft punk.
Legacy was fine, could have been better but it kept me entertained which is all I was hoping for.
Legacy was boring and had an uninspiring story.
I fucking loved Legacy.

And so it starts.

way too much hype for such an under-explored series, i like it though, on the surface its really just about them getting out of there much like the original except much darker. TBH the original will always be a great movie but Tron:Legacy was a great stand alone movie, no story whatso ever, just a great backstory and a great sequence of action scenes with bits of jeff bridges being yoda
Who wants to bet they wanna piggy back off the success of having Daft Punk do the soundtrack and do something stupid like flood the next one with Pop EDM artists? TRON 3 Featuring Daft Punk, Skrillex, Deadmau5, Knife Party, Kill The Noise, Armin Van Buurin, Zedd etc.etc.

deadmau5 would totally fit, except for the whole part about them and disney not exactly getting along...
I kind of wish that Tron: Uprising characters or plot details will be included or referenced, but given how adamant Disney was in burying that show, I'm not that hopeful.

My number one wish.
Well, besides another interquel series with the cast. But hey, Star Wars got a new cartoon.
Man, can't say I saw this franchise getting another incarnation after Legacy.
Very pleased, though.
I'll be bummed if olivia wilde isn't in it

[sp]i believed this for a second[/sp]
Some places are saying Skrillex is replacing Daft Punk.
lol
It was fine.
Stop. No. The second movie was fine. We don't need a third movie so damn soon.

5 years is soon?
I want them to just focus on the VR coliseum games aspect of the universe instead of another hamfisted "save the world" plot. An entire movie filled with Light Bike and Disc War tournaments would be awesome.

Holy shit has it been that long already?

Wow. Okay nevermind then. Give it a try.
Still, where does the plot go?
tron legacy wasnt good for much besides being a long ass music video for daft punk
[editline]11th March 2015[/editline]
with about as gripping a plot as most music videos
Fuck Tron movies, finish Tron Uprising. This show was the shit.

Won't happen though.
I want The Dude back
