Not a huge Apple fan, but this is some good news.

Almost all these new features can found from Android 1.6 to Android 2.3

doesn't take away from the fact that it is stolen right from android, and that android has had features much like this for longer than iOS

Excellent. Updating my iPod. Having an android phone and an iPod is a bitch simply because I'm so used to certain android features. Hopefully this'll bridge some of the gap.

The reason the newer OS's don't run on older phones is because there's no way to downgrade. It'd be stupid putting iOS5 on an iphone 1, and you've gotta draw the line somewhere.

Both this release and the GM seeded a few days ago are build 9A334 so yes they are identical.
