As an American, I never knew about Mr.Blobby until I saw this. I immediately asked my two best friends from England and they coherently explained that Mr.Blobby is a nightmare made of children's tears to summon Satan who got bored and reanimated a used condom with fungus inside.

To explain a bit, Mr Blobby was invented for the show Noel's House Party, featuring Noel Edmonds. He was invented for a set of 'candid camera'-style pranks, where he'd be presented to celebrities as if he were a pre-existing beloved children's TV character. He was annoying, clumsy, irritating and generally unlikeable. He's retained that ever since then, though since it's been about 20 years since he was invented, there are [I]actually[/I] people who remember him from childhood now. So the tone is a little bit different, but he's still not somebody who anybody 'likes'.

You have movies and tv shows that have some plot device being that some ancient evil being contained in some sort of magical pendant or card or something along those lines. Mr Blobby is than ancient evil being contained in... Whatever kind of costume you call that. It's only a matter of time till that ancient evil is released out to the world once again.

I actually survived an encounter with him when i was in the crowd of Live and Kicking back in 95, it was all smiles and laughter when the cameras were rolling and i enjoyed my time, but it was shortly after the cameras stopped rolling that a few of us noticed the jamie theakson and zoey ball as well as most of the film crew had made a haisty retreat to the exits. 1 of the boom operators had been left behind had a terrifed 'knowing' look on his face as Mr Blooby reappearerd in the center of the room. 100+ kids went into that studio, i was 1 of the 7 that made it out alive, what was left of the rest was scattered across the walls floor and ceiling, a week later in spite of what i'd witnessed, live and kicking was on TV again and there was that pink and yellow demon center stage with another fresh batch of victims to devour.
