Wrestling legend "Rowdy" Roddy Piper has died at the age of 61... TMZ Sports has learned. Piper -- born Roderick George Toombs -- died from cardiac arrest at a home in Hollywood at around noon Friday. Piper was a wrestling icon -- one of the biggest stars in the WWE back in the '80s, and even wrestled in "Wrestlemania I" back in 1985 ... squaring off against Hulk Hogan and Mr. T. Roddy's rep tells us, "I am devastated at this news." "Rod was a good friend as well as a client and one of the most generous, sincere and authentic people I have ever known. This is a true loss to us all." Piper had been diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma in 2006, but last November he said he was cancer free. Roddy was admitted into the WWE Hall of Fame back in 2005 and was one of the top 50 villains in the history of the WWE .
Source from TMZ :http://m.tmz.com/#Article/2015/07/31/roddy-piper-dead-dies-wwe-wrestler-cancer I'm so bummed out.

Holy shit! Did not see this coming at all. RIP Roddy.
God fucking dammit. We lost Macho Man, Warrior, Dusty, and Piper within just a few years. Who's next?
God fucking dammit. We lost Macho Man, Warrior, Dusty, and Piper within just a few years. Who's next?
Flair probably
Flair probably
I dont know. Its morbid to say but if i had to guess, i think i'd put Scott Hall or Bret Hart as being more likely than Flair.
Welp, looks like I'll be watching They Live tonight.
RIP Piper. Luckily I got to meet him and get his autograph a few years ago.
Goddammit, no! Roddy was a fucking legend.
Roddy Piper is one of my heroes. May he rest in peace and live on through emots. :conspiratard:
RIP Roddy. You came here to chew bubblegum and kickass, and you kicked a whole lot of ass.
Vince McMahon and John Carpenter have commented their condolences.
He actually had a house in Hillsboro Oregon also. I went to elementary school with one of his kids too
I wonder how the It's Always Sunny gang is going to write him out of the show.
The Maniac was always on the verge of death, this just doesn't feel right.
Even without the steroids and other PED's the life of a professional wrestler is hard. You're basically working on the road and away from your family and friends 365. You're constantly try pushing your body the extremes both in and out of the ring to stay competitive and keep a job that many others will happily take from you. You have to constantly fake hatred and act out of character for your job and you have industry execs breathing down your throat to insure you command a profit for them while they attempt to keep a struggling product afloat when it's best years are decades in the past. RIP Roddy!
This just sucks, he was a cool dude.
RIP Roddy. You came here to chew bubblegum and kickass, and you kicked a whole lot of ass.
He is now kicking ass in heaven. And he finally has his bubblegum.
