It's interesting how games advance rather quickly. Oblivion at the time looked absolutely unbelievable, now it just looks fairly bland. While skyrim isn't graphically as ground breaking as Oblivion was at the time it is still a good lookin game.

now what iam waiting to see, is the next fallout with the skyrim engine...
I like the way it's developing. I think it's looks good and is able to run on quite budget PC's
Also what is that song called?

Both games look amazing. I've never really got into The Elder Scrolls, but I might try either Oblivion or Skyrim soon.
Oh man, everytime I see a table full of stuff, I get the urge to dragon shout.
Oblivion had the shittiest snow and trees ever to be seen by man.
Wow, I didn't remember Oblivion looking that bad compared to Skyrim.

For some reason you remember past games with the graphics of current ones.
The animations in these games are really stiff and boring.
Oblivion seems to have a much wider range of color and clarity to the environments.

There are areas in skyrim what also are quite colorful, I just didn't include them in the video.
Wow i couldn't really tell the difference from that tiny resolution.
The funny thing is.
Oblivion had better textures....
Except for terrain textures. They look shite in oblivion.

But gameplay, story and the music make up for all the graphical flaws, I think.
I mean, listen to the music from the video a few posts above me.

The thing with Bethesda games are the landscape, the world and the atmosphere they give you. The story is a bit cliche, evil dragons attacking, stop evil dragons! But the characters, the little things they add in with their own flavor. I could spend hours running around the wide fields, climbing the tallest mountains, exploring the cities and everyone who inhabited them.
Animations were never Bethesda's strong suit, but what they do wall, they do damn well.

What?
The textures on everything are much more detailed than in Oblivion.

Can't help but disagree when it comes to Skyrim.
They are what you expect them to look like. A big Nord walks like you'd expect him to walk. Facial animations are loads better and even beliveable now.
Sword, Axe and other weapon animations are, for the lack of a better word, exciting. They have weight to them and the enemy actually reacts to being hit.

I find it funny that you wrote that. Look at this video @ 02:25

I found the "FUS RO DAH" vs throwing shit off the table entertaining :v:.
The game no longer pauses when you talk to someone?
shut_up_and_take_my_money.jpg
Ohh... old good times.
I wished "FUS RO DA" sounded like it was in the trailer
I think it's safe to say that Skyrim wasn't over hyped, and is now exceeding all expectations
Certainly exceeded mine, even though I knew that menu system would be a pain. Just waiting for a mod to enable clicking and I'm golden
Woah I really thought the upper video was Skyrim at the first scenes.
You should put the game at a 4:3 resolution and then crop the width of your gameplay, so that 2 videos can fit on one 16:9 resolution.

I'll see. I have a feeling that I will be doing another comparision video bit later. That one would show the difference between races etc.
As good as the Elder Scrolls games are, Bethesda really needs to hire some new animators
Where people got the idea that oblivion had nice graphics? Oblivion looked very shit for his time...
Skyrim looks relatively less abysmail for todays standards and also has actual art direction that someone actually thought with detail about how things should look which is the main relative improvement over oblivion
Also the fact there is alpha textures obscuring everything (especially dungeons) in skyrim helps as well
I can probably never come back to oblivion, skyrim is just superior in every sense.
HERES A TIP:DON'T ENTER LABYRINTHIAN OR WHATEVER ITS CALLED IF YOU ARE A LOW LEVEL.IF YOU MANAGE TO FUCK UP THE FIRST BOSS THAT INSTANTLY APPEARS AND THE SECOND BOSS(Like I did).YOU WILL GET YOUR SHIT FUCKED UP BY THE THIRD BOSS.
just friendly piece of advice.BUT SERIOUSLY THOUGH FUCK THE THIRD BOSS IS HARD
