always a Michael Moore fan, and I think he makes some good points. EDIT: Michael talks Moore (bu-dum-tish) on the protests. Inspiring stuff, especially his speech to the protestors.
So he's down to occupying just one street now? :smugdog:
Michael Moore is great when he isn't making films.
Michael Moore is great when he isn't making films.
I like his films too, capitalism a love story is excellent. He just has an energy about him.
I like his films too, capitalism a love story is excellent. He just has an energy about him.
He's kind of a biased dick. He's like the liberal version of Bill O Reilly.
He's kind of a biased dick. He's like the liberal version of Bill O Reilly.
His earlier works are fantastic, and he's starting to come back with his movie about health care.
He's kind of a biased dick. He's like the liberal version of Bill O Reilly.
When it comes to his movies he's pretty much an ideologue, yeah. But I'd say the difference between him and O'Reilly is that Michael Moore is not a news personality, and his movies don't come from a "news" organization.
You can even see the guy with the Fox News camera nodding at what he's saying [editline]29th September 2011[/editline] I don't think what he's holding is real but it's still funny to me

Occupy Boston is trying to get Noam Chomsky, rather have a scholar on board than a hypocritical filmmaker (Though I do enjoy his films)
After Michael Moore came, the protest size increased 10x. :v:
Occupy Boston is trying to get Noam Chomsky, rather have a scholar on board than a hypocritical filmmaker (Though I do enjoy his films)
Noam Chomsky would be amazing!
Michael Moore is great when he isn't making films.
His films are pretty bad though.
His films are pretty bad though.
Capitalism: A Love Story was good, and that one about his home town Canadian Bacon was hilarious as well, props for that
Capitalism: A Love Story was good, and that one about his home town Canadian Bacon was hilarious as well, props for that
I should see that one. I have to admit I only ever saw Bowling for Columbine, which I thought was extremely poorly done. Was just talking about this with a friend a couple days ago; I agree with what Michael Moore says (most of the time), but I find myself distasteful with the way he tries to get that message across.

This occupy wall street movement has precipitated a ton of new movements. Boston has a pretty good sized one that intends to occupy Dewey Square, I got back at 8:30 from interviewing its most recognizable leadership for a news article. Gold mine for a feature piece. Apparently some other cities are trying to do other movements out of solidarity but as far as I know it's just Boston and NYC for now.

I can't wait to go to occupy LA.
Who did you interview?
Six people who were just attending, as well as Guy, Marissa Egerstrom and Nelson Terry. This is at the Boston org. I also talked to Robin for a little while, she was very helpful for background information. Why, were you there?
I've never liked this Michael Moore guy, while he makes a few good points, his movies are so biased they take all credibility away.
I've never liked this Michael Moore guy, while he makes a few good points, his movies are so biased they take all credibility away.
He's not trying to make unbiased films.
He's not trying to make unbiased films.
Bias is never good in any case.
I like how the camera man zooms in on the girl in the pink and grey shirt who jumped up and down
Hey, Michael Moore makes entertaining movies. They might be biased but they're still interesting to watch.
Bias is never good in any case.
Opinions have their place in discourse, in fact they might be one of the most important parts of discourse. In an ideal world, with the marketplace of ideas, a conservative filmmaker would respond to this video in kind. The fact that they don't, means that idea doesn't sell, and that sends a message in itself. Why is bias bad? I'll admit it's bad in say the New York Times or (in my case) The Boston Globe, but those are essentially services meant to give straight news. That's not his role, his role is to give us his radical opinion.

Capitalism a love story is just amazing; I had a conservative economics teacher who had us watch it and said "I'm not a fan of Mr. Moore, but this is an incredibly important film."
Going to Occupy Phoenix the 14th, it's going to be interesting. Apparently the Chief of Police has sworn to arrest anyone there past 6:00 PM.
