• The Ship HD announced, coming in 2016

Released almost 10 years ago, The Ship was a spiritual precursor of the Assassins Creed: Brotherhood multiplayer. In it, players were given a target to kill (whilst themselves being the target for another player, so on and so forth) and had to take out said target in the most creative way possible, all whilst having to take care of simple needs such as hunger/sleep/hygiene/their bladder/etc (which in turn could cause the player to be vulnerable) In a recent steam announcement regarding the games (currently) semi broken matchmaking and the state of the game in general, Blazing Griffin announced a HD remake of the popular murder simulator. A teaser trailer has also been revealed
This is great news. I never played the Ship back when it was released. I got it when it was on sale for really cheap recently, but it's dead now. Means I'll get a proper chance to play it.
I hope they reintroduce some of the things from the original Half-Life 1 version. That was slightly more complex than the source version, and it made games less deathmatchy.
Awesome, the game is great but it's pointless to try and play it now cause it's pretty fucking dead.
Awesome, the game is great but it's pointless to try and play it now cause it's pretty fucking dead.
There's an average of ~50 people playing every hour. http://steamcharts.com/app/2400 Apparently there's some bug where you cannot find servers in-game:
In-game server select doesn’t work. But this isn’t a problem because it’s still possible to connect to servers via the Steam client > View > Servers > The Ship. Here you can find and save servers as normal. You can still host LAN games and there are several other methods of adding servers manually posted on the forums.
I'm glad, finally this game will get some god damn players.
wait for the pretentious guys to call it some bioshock rip-off!
the ship was fucking great fun, this should be good
tears of joy
This is one of my favourite games of all times and I constantly [sp]harass[/sp] encourage my friends to play with me but they hate it because it's like Mario Party. I always joked if I won the lottery I'd pay to remake this game in current Source Engine, so this is lovely to see.
holy ship

Holy mother of god this is awesome news to me. I was a huge fan of it back in the day, playing it almost daily until it died out around 2009 or 2010. Hopefully with this remake it'll make a comeback, but im also slightly nervous that something might go wrong and wreck the ship.
Holy shit this is a game I haven't heard about in years, my only experience with it was a free weekend of it I played, as far as I remember it was pretty great fun as well.
Making people puke continuously from the syringes never got old in that game. this game could make me laugh so hard
Oh, cool. The original and Bloody Good Time have been on my wishlist for a while now, so this'll be nice to pick up instead.
This game nearly tore apart a gaming community I was with
I hope they add some sort of progression or reward system for playing, if they want it to become popular at least. I have a hard time sinking a lot of time into multiplayer games where I don't achieve things and just have fun, stupidly enough. For example Black Mesa's MP is fun, but I rarely play it since it lacks that sense of reward you get from other multiplayer games. Maybe it's just me though, nevertheless I look forward to it

the games a great concept, and I wish more people played it and the single player was more fleshed out. Theres a lot more you can do with a game like that. Its like a great, artsy, cartoony whodunnit
The trailer and the font gave me strong Bioshock vibe which is quite fitting. I also never played the original so this is great news!
Great news, I loved the ship, shame that their initial kickstarter failed for that steam punk looking the ship spiritual successor, but if they introduce some new features and stuff then this will do just fine.
I wish they had those npc in the half life version instead of the bots we had in the source version, that made the game a lot more interesting.
Oh my god please update world leader mode with more politicians. I want to backstab Putin as Obama and get arrested because Merkel saw me do it.
I only managed to get in for a free weekend but boy oh boy is it fun to be a serial killer [editline]12th June 2015[/editline] uh wait what
I haven't played the original yet (somehow) but I'll definitely try this when it releases.
The original is on sale right now for $2.50, so if you don't own it or never played it before, now is your chance to try it out for cheap before the HD version comes out http://store.steampowered.com/app/2400
Oh my god, this is literally one of my favourite games in the entire world, I thought they didn't give a crap about it anymore ( i mean damn, the in game server browser doesnt work ), so this is such great news!!
This better have NPCs that can be used as camoflague.
Oh god yes I loved the original. One of those underappriciated gems on steam.
