Not going to lie.. I've never heard of her.
interesting direction they took with france... a warmongering culture civ to a espionage culture civ. not bad.
Just gonna crosspost from News Section;
Why do all of the female leaders in this game look weird? All of their head structures are just completely weird. 2 of them have non existent chins. I personally actually like the looks they made for Teddy, Montezuma, and Hojo. The Chinese leader looks sorta weird but at least his head is a traditional fat-man eggplant shape.
Though Cleopatra is the one I have the least problems with. She's passable if weird.

I think they're all a bit weird and caricature-y, you just notice it on female characters more because of the assumption that they should at least be a bit attractive that gets kinda drilled into you.
Can't wait to see Poland or Portugal.(If they're included in the base game)
Poland was great for domination and Portugal was fun to dominate trade with.
Tbh there are far more noteworthy and interesting people to have used for France's leader.

they're basically making the leaders look like they're from a disney movie :v:
The leaders look really unsettling in 6, I like the nice balance that 4 had between cartoonish/realistic.
But 5 had the best leaders, Moctezuma has Judge Doom dagger eyes.

True, but credit to spotlighting the lesser known leaders at least.
Also I can't help but think of the TF2 Spy on the idea of France as a sneaky spy kinda civ. I mean c'mon it's right there!
Good, more female leaders. More reasons for me to be a sexist fuck when she settles between my borders, or being a backstabbing denouncing cunt.
Didn't really care for who she is... good or bad pick by Firaxis, as long I got a memorable face to hate, I'm a-ok.

I just looked her up and she only actually led France for a very short time as regent for her young son... and it doesn't seem like she did a great job either.

She was a piece of shit nobody liked and who basically lied and backstabbed her way to power and held power over a few generations thanks to family ties.
There's a lot more interesting and actually liked figures they could have picked.

So about the average Civ AI?
In seriousness though, while they possibly could have made a better choice, it still brings a slightly lesser-known historical figure into the light for alot of people.

So it properly represents French's AI in Civ? Seriously, Napoleon once backstabbed me while I was trying to protect his capital from Montezuma.

that sounds pretty good for a civ leader honestly. I mean, civ has always had some controversial leaders in the past. and they're trying to go for interesting ones. it fits well with her theme (lots of spies, and you can bet she's going to be lying and backstabbing like crazy in the game as part of her agenda)
I hope the Russian Leader will be Ivan the Terrible. (Because we know Stalin ain't happening)

why not? he was in civ 4, after all. though, its doubtful if only because he wasnt on that leaked chart of leader pictures.
do yourself a favour and dont look at the comments

is it people complaining about the artstyle? of course it is. it will be until the game is actually released and people shut the hell up about it. outside of the group that still goes "man I want to play that game but I just can't"

nah its people whining about the chosen leader, just people bitching as usual

Well it's better than ignoring history. Even the uninteresting parts!

I actually really like the new art style, although I'm looking forward to not buying it until a major expansion comes out.
