Two scouts enter a large grassland area, cautiously looking out for anything that may pose a threat to their beloved King Hyginius. After scanning the area for a few minutes, they signal for the king to come forward, along with his personal guard. He perches himself upon the top of a stone outcropping ahead of him, and surveys the land; the soil looks fertile and dense, suitable for plantations and building upon... Hmm... He approves. The mail soldier behind him draws his sword and raises it into the air, signaling the rest of the caravan to come forward. The rest of the people will arrive next turn.

The soldiers move into place, and the Knight yells orders at the men and citizens below. More reinforcements are on the way in form of soldiers and citizens - but after that they are on their own. Also love is in the air...

The two scouts continue heading forward, accompanied by the soldier in mail armor. The miners begin digging into the ground, the woodworker and a pair of two peasants begin working on a house, and another pair of peasants begin working on a house. The farmer plants a row of assorted plants, which should grow nicely with this kind of weather. The blacksmith stands around idly with nothing to do until his shop is completed.

Scouts move forward and a building is in construction. They need to wait for supplies such as pickaxes and other things to arrive - or construct them alone.

The front two peasants finish their house, and proceed to go inside and go at it. A child will be expected next turn. At the back house, the two peasants head forwards and will be building a house in front of the other peasants' house soon. The building in the very back will be finished next turn. The small squad of soldiers continue scouting the land in front of them; they have been blessed with a lot of land, and good weather patterns, thank the gods! The farmers plants begin growing, as his watchful eye keeps them healthy.

Large hut finished off, two of them sit together happily - shooing the other worker out. He lumbers off sadly.
The scouts here distant voices, and are incredibly wary...

The two peasants begin constructing their house, as the child walks out of the house behind them. It will mature into a normal peasant in two turns. The large 2-story is finished, giving the blacksmith and woodworker a job. The woodworker begins producing small shields (1 shield every 2 turns), and the blacksmith begins refining metal into steel.

The Knight becomes impatient and gallops after the Scouts, but is stumped by the bridge. The two lovers begin to make some babies - and the sad man talks to the woman. The two soldiers are wary, making sure nothing violent goes on...

"...NOW!"
The mail soldier yells, as both crossbowmen take a kneel, quickly aim, and fire both of their bolts. The soldier unsheathes his blade, and with precise steps to avoid tripping, starts charging the two archers at the crest of the hill.
At the settlement, the child explores around, and another child appears outside the other house. The crops are ready for harvest, which will be next turn. The woodworker completes the shield, which is stored inside of the crate outside the house (where all of the produced items from this building will be stored). The blacksmith refines some metal into steel, which he hammers into a steel cuirass. It will take a turn to cool down, then will be ready to use. He begins refining more metal, as the craftsman (used to be woodworker) begins making spears (one per turn). The blacksmith apprentices the new child, who will help him produce items once he reaches maturity.
Crossbows dont generally arch, specially for that distance, so, unless thats a warning shot, its pretty much useless

One of the scouts is hit, and tries to lumber back to the village in vain, it is very unlikely that he will survive. The knight and soldiers are taken aback, and need to figure a way across the bridge.
The remaining scout lets loose his arrow and charges forward, for the glory of rome.

Isnt it quiet common for roman childbirths mothers to die
Or is that just for caesarian section
Isn't it quite common for Roman's to move in huge legions? Quit the realism trifon. :v:
I'd quite like it if you'd both stop spelling "quite" as "quiet"
[editline]11:25AM[/editline]
sorry, my grammar nazi side got the better of me. :hitler:
Meh sorry I just copied what trifon said. :v: Didn't read it really.

The arrow shot by the Roman punches through the mail of the soldier and deep into the chest of the man underneath. His back hits the ground, as well as his blood, but his soul hits the sky as he dies a violent death. The first crossbowman throws down his unloaded crossbow, unsheathes his dagger, and rushes the Roman, giving the other crossbowman time to re-load and aim at the remaining enemy...
The first child matures, walks up to the supply chest and outfits himself with all that was in it: A steel cuirass, a wooden shield and a wooden spear. He decides he'll wait a little while for the men to make additional pieces of armor before he is content, considering the bloodshed he sees in the distance. The second child makes his way across the settlement, heading for the blacksmith's office to be apprenticed.
The craftsman finishes making his second spear, then switches to making bows. A bow takes one turn to make, and a quiver takes an additional turn. The blacksmith finishes refining the metal, and cuts it in quarters; he then hammers two bracers and two shinguards out of the metal. They will cool off by next turn.
Also, one of the Kings Guards decides it's time to shed some blood, and begins marching forwards.

The two lovers fall into the hut, to make some babies. The babies wander around more, slowly maturing. They will mature very soon. The scout continues his warcry and aggressively knee's the soldier infront of him and slices upward - destroying his organs. The Romans death was assured, the knife had torn his knee up, and if he wasn't finished off he would suffer a cruel interrogation. Surely.

The first crossbowman slumps over backwards, dead, while the second finishes up aiming and plants a well-placed bolt right into the eye-socket of the Roman who took the life of his friend. The new soldier waits patiently as the blacksmith and newly-hired apprentice toil away at a sword, made just for him. After they finish, he shackles the sword to his belt, grabs another spear, and runs to group up with the King's Guardsman ahead of him. Another child appears from the doorway of House #1, and the craftsman finishes up on a bow and begins working on a quiver (will be done next turn). The Blacksmith, with the aid of his apprentice, can now complete all tasks one turn faster. After finishing the sword for the new recruit, the blacksmith begins hammering into shape another steel cuirass. It will be ready next turn. The rest of the caravan will arrive in three turns.
I love medieval matches.

Trifon, Joost was right.
Yeah, tis called sarcasm
Ragamuffin, I'd like to continue this match if you're up for it. If you are, just post your next turn and we'll continue from there :D If you don't, just say so and I'll let this die.
Holy shit sorry forgot about this match after I got banned. Of course I'll continue it, but I dunno if I can get a turn up tonight.

Updates:
The 2 babies grow up and move into the store room turned barracks - preparing to become soldiers.
The two lovers emerge with a newborn, and look happily upon the horizon.
The mother of the first born children is beginning to feel sick...
Action!
"IN THE NAME OF ROME! FIGHT FOR OUR DEAD, SHOW THEM REAL FEAR!"
Yelled the commander from atop his high horse, making sure he wouldn't get hurt at all, would probably just be another 2 dead sodliers - but if HE were to die, the village would fall into chaos. Caravan arrives in 3 turns.

At the settlement, the first newborn wanders around and is intrigued by the plants. He stands there and simply stares, watching them grow. Another child is born from the second house. The new soldier picks up running speed, and prepares to send a javelin flying straight for the enemy... The Kings Guardsman draws his sword, raises his shield, and prepares to shed some blood. It's been a while for him, and the anticipation of flaying some limbs is almost intolerable... The Blacksmith finishes on the Steel Cuirass, and starts on a kite shield, while his apprentice creates a Nordic helmet. The Craftsman finishes on the quiver, and begins working on a wooden shield. The rest of the caravan will arrive in two turns.
