While the UK (see other thread) has snow and 0-ish degrees *C, we here in Norway bask in cold records. At least in the south. In the region where I live (Buskerud) we had an all time cold ever recorded here.

That is an accurate thermometer, and yes – it really is that cold here.
We've been laying at about -20 to -25 most of the day, although it climaxed this morning right when I was going to school at -30. In fact, buses had to be canceled due to this, so I stood out in this cold for an hour until I couldn't feel my toes.
To top this arctic wave off we've got winds from Siberia, making it painful to even just keep your eyes open.
I spend all day traveling outside considering I have school, two journalistic/photographic jobs and other chores.
Goddamnit.
( Sauce is unfortunately only in Norwegian, but comes with a nice picture of how it looks here right about now;

EDITED: We beat the south pole yesterday, but the north pole is still ahead (or should I say behind) with about 4 degrees.
EDIT 2: Here's a view from my house;

Norway is not real
What is so funny?
Jesus christ.
I feel sorry for you man.
I hear its the same in Sweden.
Hopefully next year is better, or I may have made the worst study abroad decision ever. :v:
Find some ski goggles, damn it.
As titfucking beautiful as it is, fuck sake that's cold.

For Americans, that is -24.9 degrees Fahrenheit
The entire next week will be -20ish.

Wish me luck.
i'll come keep you warm op
We had similar temperatures in northern Finland about a week ago, and my car battery died. Our record temperatures in the 90s were closer to -42/-45C, and I had to walk to school still.
Honestly I don't get why people seem to love winter and snow so much, I hate this time of year with a passion. Even the roads are so slippery it feels like NFS Tokyo Drift all the way to work.
It's normally that bad here, too. It hasn't been so far, thank fuck.
Dare you to pee outside.
man and I feel cold at 40 degrees fahrenheit over here in Arizona
I like cold temperatures, actually, so I'd like to try that sometime :v:
brb moving to Siberia

You'll get a frozen piss stick!
You can attack your foes with it!

Sounds hot.
-14 C here in Scotland.
My question is: How do foreigners adapt to such severe temperatures over there, OP?
For instance, I doubt muslims can find that kind of cold in Iran or Saudi Arabia

It's not like "Ah, very fresh air. Cool temperature. Love it" -10.
It's more like "Jesus christ I'm dying help my eyes are frozen I can't breathe have my organs shattered yet oh god I don't want to die" -30 and wind.

Not any better than the locals. We're all hiding in our local gas stations whenever forced outside.

And the scots put on something under their kilt.

I'm freezing my ass off wearing 3 shirts and a leather jacket when it's about 20*F over in New Mexico...I can't even imagine 0*F let alone below that...
I would die in weather that cold.
