So i bought a wacom bamboo pen and touch yesterday This is my first serious try with it: What do you think? I'd want some advice so i can get better...
That's pretty good for a first try. It took me about 2 years to even get comfortable with my tablet, and now I'm at a point where I literally can't draw without it. The only advice I can give is practice! And don't give up! Also I'm pretty sure there's a few drawing programs that have automatic stabilizing features. If you prefer to use photoshop, I'd recommend putting a piece of drawing paper ontop of the tablet, to simulate that pen-on-paper feel and to reduce the jitters, and also to minimize scratching.
Also to reduce scratching Adobe flash has some great smoothing tools, which can effect as you draw or after yourve drawn
It's an okay start in terms of using the tablet, but the positioning and proportions of facial features is way off.
........
that's awesome but i dont like the body. other then that, you're great
too early to get a tablet throw it away and work with pencil and paper until you atleast know who you are doing.
too early to get a computer throw it away and work with pencil and paper until you atleast know how to build meanings.

Yeah, what they're saying is somewhat right. You don't have to stop with the tablet, but you should definitely work with pencil and paper to learn about the anatomy. You'll have a nice gestural quality, I can already tell. But the severe problems with the proportions are distracting away from everything else. Alllllso, never do that with the body, what you did in the second post. Either crop off the bottom or finish it, but it takes away from the detail in the face. It just looks half-assed.
Not to sound mean, but 'bad' is an acquired taste, Listen to Pepsi, get the basics down before you start getting serious or you'll get used to common mistakes and it'll be that much harder to fix later.
Don't listen to them. You don't need to use pencil and paper if you don't want to. Unless you want to be a traditional artist, there is no reason to use one because tablet can do all the same and better.

thats the thing, i don't use ctrl+z i just draw over it
ITT: people who know jack shit about basic drawing arguing against people who do. [editline]6th November 2010[/editline] The lines area a squiggly clusterfuck anatomy is completely random, the hair is halfassed and looks more like... fuck I do'nt know, not hair? There is no shading what so ever, the tone choises are just plain shit and there's no breaking down into basic shapes nor any basic knowledge of composition or digipaiting what so ever. Throw that tablet into cupboard because you'll develop bad habits by fucking about with it without knowing anything. Go to drawspace.com for some lovely tutorials to follow and if you want something more specific ask. And all you assholes whiteknighting, you're halting his development by doing so, you egoistic douchebags.
okey i suck my drawing are superbad for beeing my first try i should know everything about drawing BEFORE im even drawing my first picture seriously pepsi.. i am bad but this was my first try for heavens sake im trying to develop my skills you sound like i should give up completely, maybe i should
you sound like i should give up completely, maybe i should
Stop being a quiter.
Times like these I want the "bad reading" rating back.

He's not telling you to give up, just to focus on the basics. I think you tackled something a little advanced for your first try, you might want to start off with nothing but gestures to get your anatomy and proportion right. Hell, and they're easy, like 1 minute a doodle. yeah, but if i say it like this, im not trying to draw realistic people look at the "manga" drawing people, their proportions aint right either? but i know i have to work on my proportions i think that my drawing are great (for beeing drawn by me) i like the way the blonde girl looks like a child (even though here eyes looks in different ways) but thanks for all the advice:)
Manga has brilliant proportions, I have no clue what are you talking about. Everyone who thinks he can exuse himself by saying "but i was no draweing rel ppl" is an idiot and should go break a brick wall with his forehead. Everything starts from realism, like it or not but if you don't want to be one of those wannabe fucks doing artsy fartsy shit with filterrape and want to be someone to be taken seriously you have to take the learning process seriously and that includes learning to draw realistic stuff very well. It's the basis of everything. period. Every basic and advanced skill is derived from it. Starting right off at drawing your stylisation shit is like trying to drive in a car with engine that you modified to run on poo. You may fool some dumb cunts but once they look under the hood they discover it's full of shit and you won't get far anyway.
Unfortunately, a lot of people seem to associate a tablet with being superior in artistic talent, I see it a lot on the drawing site I go to. People who use mice look at tablets and go "OMG WEN I GET 1, IM GONA B AWESOM". This isn't the case obviously. Just practise doing the basics, as said before, learn proportions and anatomy properly before starting serious work, because you're not going to be able to stop bad habits once you start. If you're set on drawing as more than a pasttime, then you need to learn proportions, pencil and paper. You can't learn properly if you just use the computer.

I'm by no means a critic, I just relive my stress on those poor bastards.
ok i give up im gonna learn how to draw properly but noone here is good at giving constructive criticism so im never gonna ask others what they think. im no superserious artist im just gonna keep my drawing for myself untill i get better
a great descision. Report back to us when you feel like it. I'd like to see what you can come up with in a month from now. [editline]6th November 2010[/editline] Hey, maybe you'll even drop the whiny-spineless dramaqueen attitude.
Actually, you're not being open to constructive criticism. You're not accepting it for what it really is. And as far as wanting to draw stylized proportions, here's the thing. Even Picasso mastered the realistic human form before he moved on to the abstract. If you don't develop that foundation of drawing, which will be the most important thing you ever do as an artist, you won't ever be able to draw a manga, because your people will look physically different every time. Also, don't be so emotional and defensive. These people, although brutal (and what else did you expect from Facepunch?), know what they're talking about.

We would have to give details about EVERYTHING in the drawing which would basically summarize in: "Redraw it so that it looks good". Just keep practising and practising and you'll see improvement over time, even if it feels like you are at the exact same level as before, but when you compare the drawings then "Huh, well I'll be damned, I have improved after all" and then you go and cry in the corner for realizing just how bad you were before and how you still are bad and how you will never become as good as you want, and even if you get as good as you currenly want you won't consider yourself good when you get there and then you just kill yourself and give up. You know, something along those lines.
