I'm not sure how I feel about this. On one hand, I feel bad for Red Bull and the code pattern being so simple anyone could guess them in sequence. But on the other hand, it's nice to see this happen to Destiny, the game that's been trying to gouge money from everyone at every turn

Don't know where "money sucking" term comes from, since the game only got 2 DLCs and Expansion coming. Red Bull promotion was the dumbest idea from the beginning. Like haven't they figured out that there a lot of people playing outside of US?

Money Sucking comes from $60 game with $20 content (There's two or three parts in the main game where the dialogue literally says "I could tell you why, but I'm not"), two DLCs that were obviously cut to be sold as DLC's totaling another $40. Then before the huge public outcry, they were going to make you buy all of the shit you already had AGAIN in a new collector's edition just to get a couple new special features that they were going to leave out otherwise

idk why would you even consider to purchase Collectors edition again just to get few items in-game. Call me a fanboy, but my point is that this not the worth DLC scheme we've seen (hi CoD:AW, Evolve etc). The value of Destiny is replayabilty of the same levels and given content from released DLCs were actually worth its' prices. The worse scenario would be if they add microtransactions for armor and weapons.

The ""generator"" consists of making up an 8-character code with 6 numbers and 2 letters, and only using the numbers 3, 4 and 7 and the letters X, C and K.

I only play Crucible (pvp), raids, and the nightfall. So I mean its got more variety than COD. :v:

What people usually fail to mention is that you cannot play the game online with out PS+ or Xbox Gold. The main reason I chose a PS3 last gen was because I wouldn't have to pay a monthly fee to play my games online. Considering that Destiny could have easly just been a peer-to-peer network game its shitty.
So its 60$ for the game, then if you want any sort of interaction the 10$-20$ for the network, then since the base game is lacking in content you have the 40$ worth of extras, which again most of which requires the network.
This stuff adds up.
I remember when this happened a couple years ago with Stella Artois, it was like a 7-digit code and the first three numbers were always the same. You got a free chalice for it, it was badass.

You can play it without PS+ or Xbox Live, though special activities won't be available (said raids, nightfalls)

I just got a game that just released today at $19.99 on Steam for my PS+ game of the month, and there's still two more waiting for me. My friend who has an Xbox One was amazed at how many games I have in my library and how little I've spent.
(If you have PS+, Styx is the greatest stealth game since Chaos Theory or one of the old Thief games)
