Jesus fucking christ, Cary Elwes better watch the fuck out
Will Rogers World is getting evacuated to the storm shelters because of the recent northerly trends according to News9.
So many cars driving right into it without even knowing. [editline]6th May 2015[/editline] Wouldn't the emergency broadcast system be going off for all of them?
Storm is to the south of me. I'm keeping a close eye on things in case something develops on the north side. Here's the general gist of things: Turnpike has been shut down. Travel in the Oklahoma City metro area is ill advised. Will Rogers World Airport has been shut down and anyone evacuated to the underground tunnels. Tornado warning may be issued for the south part of the OKC metro area. Possibly another tornado south of Newcastle; sirens are sounding. Present tornado is rain wrapped. Tornado emergency is in effect.
Wouldn't the emergency broadcast system be going off for all of them?
Provided they have a phone on them with WEA functionality, yeah. Or they have their radio on. Also, EBS got replaced by EAS in 1997.
Sirens in Moore and Norman is being told to take shelter. Tornado warning in Cleveland county.
That's a really big hook near Moore.
Tornado appears to be 1 mile wide.
holy shit
I feel like if there's anyplace in the US where underground shelters should be mandatory, it should be Oklahoma. House's shouldn't be considered to code if they don't have a shelter.
Another one coming down again, playing the game of up and then back down again.
Powerflashes in western/central Norman near Main/Robinson streets.
These kinds of tornadoes that get wrapped up in rain and are impossible to see coming are especially dangerous.
Sirens just sounded for oklahoma county.
holy shit
That isn't nothing, there's been tornadoes as wide to two and maybe even four miles, but a tornado's size should not be taken as indication on how powerful it is, what really matters is the speed of the winds it's producing as the winds along with the flying debris is what causes most of the damage. A large tornado just means the damage is going to be across a larger area.
Sirens are sounding again in Oklahoma county.
I was at riverwind when the first one was coming through, It's crazy.
Living here in nebraska, we just got wacked by a tornado about a few hours ago. House is still standing and were alive.
Watching the SVRHD.com Lawrence McEwen stream. Those storms always freak me out when they hit Montgomery. Last time a tornado hit here badly it hit a daycare center back in 2006. Nobody died thankfully
