Banksy's rage: Guerilla artist stencils rat asking 'Why?' next to space where one of his pieces was removed to be sold - New stencil shows rat holding placard saying 'why?' - Locals furious that mural was gouged out and is to be sold Graffiti artist Banksy has added a Rat with the word 'WHY?' to the wall where his artwork was removed last week http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2282958/Banksys-rage-Guerilla-artist-stencils-rat-asking-Why-space-pieces-removed-sold.html
Why indeed, I really like his work.
Lets hope they don't steal the rat.

Danger. Thieves. Fitting.
Perfect.
I wouldn't mind buying the rat to be honest.
Now now guys. We don't know if it was stolen. It is after all being sold by a reputable art collector and we all know that they don't pay people under the table to get pieces they can't have, right? Right?? Personally I would just trace the stencil and respraying it on another surface. It's the DeviantART way to do it but it doesn't involve the black market or ripping up a wall to get at the spray.
How do people actually know if it's Banksy who makes the various art pieces?

It was the purple dinosaur gang that did it
has Banksy's identity ever been established? you'd think with all the CCTV in the UK it'd be pretty easy to do this
I still stick with the overthought theory of him not existing and it's actually a cult of people
this wasn't confirmed in fact several different photos of him are floating around and they're all different people
There's actually a theory that's been floating around for years that "banksy" is not a person, it's a group :v:
It's pretty damn clear why, because the stuff he makes sells for a lot of money, that's why you div

why do so many people love Bansky so much?
why do so many people love Bansky so much?
it's good art man
why do so many people love Bansky so much?
He's not just some graffiti artist, all his pieces he puts all around revolve around ideas, like this photo above with child and sewing machine, it's more likely about child labour.
why do so many people love Bansky so much?
even if you don't think his stuff is as clever as some would say it is, you've got to admit that it's all very easy on the eye
He's not just some graffiti artist, all his pieces he puts all around revolve around ideas, like this photo above with child and sewing machine, it's more likely about child labour.
the original photo had the strand of british flags being torn down from where they were strung up along the building, which made it much more powerful than what it looked like in auction. [t]http://arrestedmotion.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/the_lonely_villein_banksy_21.jpg[/t] it connects a few concepts together, could say something about how even the cheap frivolous things like a cheap strand of flags comes at a cost and [something something] better labor laws and less outsourcing that's a big thing with banskies, is that you can form a couple ideals from them so people can come to their own conclusions about this stuff my biggest question here though is how did anybody manage to send that slab of stucco all the way to california without any damage also looking at the current state of the wall, I'd kind of assume the 'why' also encompasses the people who made the crappy thieves stencil and slapped on a purple dinosaur. It's like metavandalization
why do so many people love Bansky so much?
It's artistically nice stuff (though perhaps you disagree) and his works often have messages and meanings that go beyond it just being art for the sake of art.
why do so many people love Bansky so much?
because his(their?) art is highly controversial and has actual meaning people like dat shit
