This is actually an altered idea from what someone has posted in this sub-forum before.

I think it's a pretty fun idea, and I'm willing to hop on-board with a member who lives around the same area as me. I think it'd also bring the community here closer, and just an overall nice experience. Should be noted that this in no way has to be rushed.

desert to forest? that'd make for a fun contrast on your set. also, you can grab the disposable if you want. i wouldn't focus on the quality of them so much, this is just a fun little project. however, if you're trying to shop for quality, i remembered these:
Gotta love disposables, the Fujifilm flash one is best - lets your control when you want the flash on or off easily with a switch and the film is better in my opinion.
You have to be careful with them. I wouldn't ever suggest buying them unless you can get them cheap because they're very hit and miss, the film is terrible and you often end with strong colour casts (although, that's half the fun of using them I guess).
yep the fuji is what i was going to go for, as i remembered that as well. i'll try and pick one up tomorrow and get started, i'll let you know when i'm done with my half
anyone in california, preferably central coast?

hell yes. take as long as you need on the photos.
Scotland here, someone pair with me. I'll do the developing.
Representing England, North East to be precise.. anyone game?
Roll_Program, wouldn't you be able to pair up with Him1411?

probably could yeah, just need to get a disposable camera next time I go to ASDA :)
I'm in.
Madison, WI. I can buy a camera, develop and scan. (Although my scanner isn't the best)
Didn't you guys do something similar like this before? I think you guys used one camera and took a shot and sent it to the next person. Something like that.
Also willing to try this out too. I live in Chula Vista, California. Basically in San Diego.

That's where I got this idea from, only changed it slightly. However, I wasn't aware that it was ever accomplished. Anyhow, notlabbet lives in California, you could pair up with him, perhaps?
scotland here as well, would be interested i think
scotland here as well, would be interested i think
Actually, you and Roll_Program might be better suited then. However, that's if you decide to participate.
so is the idea that you mail it?

if so i will team up with you pinguinkris

Whoever you're partnered up with buys the disposable, or you do, whoever decides to, doesn't matter. Then, you buy a notebook, and write down the inspiration/motive behind each shot in numerical order, page by page. However, you are only allowed to use half of the exposures on the disposable. Once you've hit the half-way mark, stop, and send it to your partner. They will then do the same, and then process the film. Once it's done, the pages/exposures will be uploaded, and posted in this thread.
Sounds fun, oh wait I live in Idaho..
I live on Vancouver Island, I'd do it if anyone else is nearby. I guess I'd buy the camera and find a notebook cause I have little clue of film. Keep in mind my penmanship is atrocious ;0
works out well, in my opinion.
It's still quite a distance.
It's still quite a distance.
Distance I'm not as worried about as price. You live in the US, and Kabstrac is in Canada. I wonder if there would be some extra charge or not because it's going over borders? Anyhow, I was just suggesting, if you'd like to wait for someone who's closer to you, then by all means do that.
Could always just send the camera through postage as well. Although that kinda takes the fun outta it.

Don't think you could get away with that anyhow, you still have to send a notebook. Although, in this case, if you were with Kabstrac, he'd be the one buying the notebook/camera, your responsibility would be:
1) Finishing the roll.
2) Developing the roll.
3) Uploading the finished prints, scanning the notebook pages, and uploading those also.

Sounds good. I'll PM you my address when it's time.
I'm couch surfing at the moment so I have no idea where I'll be.
yeah, count me in as well

If Canada to Idaho doesn't work, WI to Idaho does. But whatever you think.
I don't have a scanner, unless scanning the photo works? Or do you guys who use film have an actual scanner for film?
Wait slip you've got a canon AE-1P right? For the film I could shoot half a roll on mine, wind it back up not entirely (in darkness so that way a bit of film sticks out), then you just take a 1/1000th picture in complete darkness for the first 12 shots, then we've each got half a roll but still have control over stuff. Since they have the same winding mechanisms we shouldn't lose any frames.
I've traded rolls between my AE-1P and 9xi before, it worked rather well.
Would you rather do this?
