• RRoD is a conspiracy

It scares people into paying $80 extra for the warranty. I mean really, one would imagine that they would have fixed this design flaw that not only appears in all versions of the Xbox 360, but also all versions of the original Xbox. One would imagine 8 years (almost 9 now) of commercial distribution of their consoles (not to mention all the testing team of the original Xbox first discovering the bug before the console was released), that they would have fixed it. But this way they get people to buy the warranty. And if you don't buy the warranty, they still get money because your probably going to buy a new Xbox 360. Microsoft, with all of it's assets and employees, could have fixed the problem by now if it would be in the best interest for their company (which it probably is, since, despite the warranty and people buying replacement consoles, the RRoD does scare away potential customers, and it makes Microsoft look bad since they don't care enough to fix the problem, so it does have both positive and negative affects on Microsoft).
I just sent mine back to microsoft and they fixed it and gave me silver xbox live!
Or maybe it's one of those "happy accidents."
:tinfoil:
My friend just had his RROD, and I think I mine might for the 4th time (and I'm out of warranty now). It is NOT a myth. I read the OP faggots. I'm just singing my song of woe.
I just sent mine back to microsoft and they fixed it and gave me silver xbox live!
You don't need an Xbox or Xbox 360 to get Silver, you can get it on their website with a PC (or Mac or mobile device or other type of computer).
I'm on my third replacement 360 since launch.
Uh... I have a first gen Xbox, I have unlimited warranty. :smug:
I sent mine in and within a week I had a brand new one.
I've had my xbox for about 3 years and nothing has happend to it.
You do realize, that if that is the case, and that they deliberately produced a flawed product designed to fail, it would be illegal as hell and Microsoft could be sued for billions in a class-action lawsuit?
If it's a conspiracy to get more money why does Microsoft fix it for free.
Meh, I took out my hard drive, blew into it, and popped it back in. Worked like a charm. Old school N64 style :smug:
I'm on my third console and they have fixed it for free every single time.
My Xbox 360 is 2 years old and I've YET to get the RRoD.

I've had mine for 4 years and it just RROD'ed on me.
rrod once and that was caused by an power outage. i also believe that if its in a good environment it will last longer/not get rrod.
I'm pretty sure the warranty comes with the Xbox, sir. :| At least mine did. OP is paranoid and/or an idiot.
My 360 finally red ringed after about 4 years.
Mine RRoD'd last 6 months ago and I've been too lazy to send it in :smug:
:tinfoil: [editline]11:15PM[/editline]
My 360 finally read ringed after about 4 years.
It read ringed? Was it a good book?
what's funny is that people keep on buying/fixing 360's no matter how much money they've wasted already.
Who pays extra for a free warranty that Microsoft provides? Even after Microsofts extended the warranty.
Uh... I have a first gen Xbox, I have unlimited warranty. :smug:
No you don't. :smug:
mine just rrod'd about 2 weeks ago. The day before i was going to have a party with some friends, so I asked one of them to bring over their 360. it rrod'd too. fuck microsoft.
Jews did RRoD. Beware the reptilians.
RROD was an inside job
Mine's 3 years old and counting :smug:
I am on my 8th 360. All of them RROD'd within 2 and a half months of my getting them. Every single time they've sent me a new one 3 damn months later. I fucking hate Microsoft, but the 360, while being a steaming pile of fecal matter, is the best console currently available.
