Last pic made me laugh. It's certainly made waves.
Goodnight sweet prince, you changed the world.
So, what happens now?
So, what happens now?
Life goes on.
So, what happens now?
Why would anything happen?
Goodnight sweet prince, you changed the world.
You better be joking.
You better be joking.
He did change the world. He raised racism and xenophobia in the USA by about 1000%, for one thing.
You better be joking.
How can you even take that seriously? Although in a way he did change the world by giving us TSA.
So, what happens now?
Empire state building gets bombed by Al Qaeda, we invade an Arab country, spend 10 years looking for new Al Qaeda leader, find him and kill him rinse and repeat.
[img_thumb]http://inapcache.boston.com/universal/site_graphics/blogs/bigpicture/bin_laden_killed/bp9.jpg[/img_thumb]
Anyone else notice the extra arm?
So, what happens now?
We keep fighting the un-winnable "war on terror" Bin Laden was one man, his death means nothing at the end of the day. Think about the amount of soldiers and civilians that had to die in the past 10 years just to find him.
Anyone else notice the extra arm?
:monocle:
I don't know why, but I like seeing these guys around NYC. When I went on vacation there and was walked to Applebee's for breakfast, there was a big truck with these guys around it. I guess it makes me feel safe.
Images from the scene. Warning! Includes real(!) pictures of the men that were killed, which are rather bloody. No Osama tough. http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=d3b_1304540048
I was expected Osama's dead body, but I was not dissapointed.
Awesome pictures in the OP. Really inspiring and patriotic. I was just losing faith in the American people because I never saw such patriotism as what was displayed.
After all those threads about the celebration that went on about his death, this is how it should be "celebrated": [img_thumb]http://inapcache.boston.com/universal/site_graphics/blogs/bigpicture/bin_laden_killed/bp14.jpg[/img_thumb] And this kind of thing is just... wrong, I don't know. Sad. [img_thumb]http://inapcache.boston.com/universal/site_graphics/blogs/bigpicture/bin_laden_killed/bp7.jpg[/img_thumb]
No cheering and rejoicing! You have to stand solemnly with your girlfriend in the middle of a park, alone, or its not celebration, its wrong!
In some ways it is okay to celebrate like that. It is the death of an evil man who killed thousands of innocent people in cold blood not to mention thousands suffering because of al queda today. If it were me I would be "celebrating" because it marks that the US got what we wanted to do and put a wrench into al quedas plans. However it is far from over and people should be more cautious than ever.
I am like near the only one on this planet not giving a fuck. Okay he is killed but does it changes anything? Since he is killed there are only higher chances of terrorist attacks. By the way. They could better get this man down since he planned lots of attacks I don't see the reason to celebrate this
[img_thumb]http://inapcache.boston.com/universal/site_graphics/blogs/bigpicture/bin_laden_killed/bp16.jpg[/img_thumb]
Look I understand patriotism but I think this is pushing it a bit.
Guess he couldn't hide forever.
The pictures of people celebrating make me feel sick - what sheep!
The pictures of people celebrating make me feel sick - what sheep!
He killed millions of people. They Millions of people celebrated the Death of them. Now we kill 1 man and we celebrate his death.
"I mourn the loss of thousands of precious lives, but I will not rejoice in the death of one, not even an enemy." - Martin Luther King, Jr
Falsely attributed quote, never actually said by MLK. http://www.theatlantic.com/national/archive/2011/05/anatomy-of-a-fake-quotation/238257/
I find the fact people were celebrating in the streets really dumb. [editline]5th May 2011[/editline] And Osama dying will literally change nothing. If anything things will get worse.
I am like near the only one on this planet not giving a fuck. Okay he is killed but does it changes anything? It should also be noted that he was seen as a hero and even a great leader in eyes of many other insurgents. Having him killed was one of the biggest boosts of morale and would help convince a disillusioned public that they can get shit done. Sure it was just one head cut off from a multi-headed snake, but it is certainly a blow. You forgot to mention the huge treasure trove of data and computer materials that they have managed to salvage from the mansion the ST6 raided. Their leaders may continue his operations, but now light has been shed on Pakistan after Osama's death, public is now perceiving Pakistan to be harboring the deadliest terrorists and now for once we can actually set the proper sights on where to look.
[img_thumb]http://inapcache.boston.com/universal/site_graphics/blogs/bigpicture/bin_laden_killed/bp16.jpg[/img_thumb]
It kinda annoys me I see people sticking things like flags or stickers onto objects or themselves which makes them think they are somehow patriotic. This is hardly patriotic and this also isn't what patriotism stands for. It's also against the flags rules. So basically not only is it non-patriotic, but it is also disrespectful.
