Guessing it is paid DLC on the X-box and free on the PC as usual.
"Hi, we were thinking about bringing you some new content, but we don't want to do it ourselves so here's one of the campaigns, go ahead and make us DLC, community."
Sounds neat.

"You make the mods, we cash the paychecks"
You realise they're also adding the other 3 L4D1 maps, yeah?

Now I regret buying the first L4D. Might as well have bought the second if it gets all the content from the first part
Oh noooo
nevermind, who even plays this anymore?
Valve? PAID DLC?
Please tell me it's a joke. PLEASE! :gonk:

Only on the 360 as far as I'm concerned. It's because of greedy Microsoft politics, not Valve. It's the same reason why there's no updates for the 360's version of Team Fortress 2
It might be free on both platforms, if i recall correctly, 360 DLC can be free if it is created with tools that are openly available to the community, Valve could be doing something very clever by doing this.

Where'd you hear this?

Actually, the RPS writer pulled the "paid" part straight from the deepest, darkest regions of his ass, then edited it out.
I can never play L4D2 for more than a couple hours before I have no interest to play it again for several months.

I feel the same way, except it only takes me a few minutes.
I don't see it being paid on PC, you would have to be really stupid to pay for it if you could just download it from l4dmaps.

I don't think cold stream is on l4dmaps. They said they were making it specifically for the DLC.

According a post on Valve’s official Left 4 Dead 2 blog, Valve have seen Lourdelet’s work so far and decided to release it in a non-story driven pack containing the other three Left 4 Dead 1 campaigns not currently in L4D2.
Where'd you hear this?
Read the article?
Hahaha oh god... Just when you thought L4D couldnt get worse.
The L4D team can go fuck themselves, ruining valves reputation since the announcement of L4D2
valve can fuck off then im sick of their shit
If valve adds in some new Voice work from the VA section...That would be rad
I honestly wouldn't be surprised if it ends up being paid on the PC, at least Valve will do what they did with Mann Co Store and give the third party developers a share of the profits. But then again Valve will use that excuse for their own benefit, who knows how much Valve has got in total from the Mann Co Store.
Now I regret buying the first L4D. Might as well have bought the second if it gets all the content from the first part
Honestly it should only get the content from the first one if you own both, saves you the trouble of starting a different game just to play a campaign. But since they're at it, I hope they add an option to block the L4D2 specials from the original campaigns as well as only use the L4D1 weapons, for nostalgia value.
nah it wont be paid on the PC, it wont be....
I highly doubt they will make pc users pay for it. They have never done it in the past, why would they start now?

where have i heard this before...
oh yeah, in the TF2 section.

Maybe because they might of viewed the Mann Co Store as a success I'm guessing. Also as the article states they are importing the other three L4D1 campaigns into L4D2, I suppose that is quite a bit of content if it would of been free DLC.
For this DLC we start with wanting to experiment by releasing a map pack that wasn’t about story. It would just be new campaigns for Left 4 Dead 2.
This right here is why this is not a good idea.
Personally I think that if they are doing a "non story" dlc, they should include another set of survivors for the cold stream campaign and future no story campaigns. Just because it wouldn't make sense to have the l4d2 survivors there to begin with. But whatever atleast I won't have to install l4d1 again everytime I feel like playing it's campaigns.
