Researchers advocate legalizing child porn Children's rights groups are up in arms after American and Czech researchers released a report that advocates the legalization of child pornography. The report studied examples in Denmark, the Czech Republic and Japan to correlate the legal availability of child pornography with the frequency of sex crimes against children. The report used the point at which child pornography became legal in the Czech Republic in 1989 — when communism collapsed and publishing restrictions were significantly loosened — to measure the difference in attack rates during and after the ban. It also used data collected from other studies to make comparisons with Japan and Denmark. "Most obvious and most significant of our findings is that the number of reported cases of child sex abuse immediately dropped markedly after [sexually explicit material] was legalized and became available," the report, which was published in the journal Archives of Sexual Behaviour, reads. "We consider instructive our findings for the Czech Republic that have echoed those found in Denmark and Japan that where so-called child-pornography was readily available without restriction the incidence of child sexual abuse was lower than when its availability was restricted." The study suggests "artificially produced materials,” not children, be used in the creation of pornography, and that pornography can often act as a substitute for sexual assaults. But U.K. advocacy group NSPCC (the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children) says the study is entirely misguided. "This obscene type of material has no part to play in our society," a spokesperson for the organization told the U.K.'s Daily Mail. "Many children suffer atrocious abuse in the making of indecent images. To make it legal would suggest that inappropriate behaviour and violence towards children is acceptable. It never is and it would be quite wrong to make it legal."
If you read the article, you'll find that the title of the article itself is sort of misleading, but I don't write the news, I just copy paste it. Uhwha? That was unexpected.
"artificially produced materials" is the key phrase
The study suggests "artificially produced materials,” not children, be used in the creation of pornography
Wait, so....lolicon?
Misleading title.
Not sure what to think about this.
-snip- misquote.
well I guess there's some logic behind it as in when the pedophiles can wank to child porn they wont resort to raping children?
well I guess there's some logic behind it as in when the pedophiles can wank to child porn they wont resort to raping children?
not at all. completely backwards logic you got there. rapists will always be rapists. the availability of legal "child porn" will not make rapists any less likely to want to go out and do it.
not at all. completely backwards logic you got there. rapists will always be rapists. the availability of legal "child porn" will not make rapists any less likely to want to go out and do it.
Nope. Look at the survey.
not at all. completely backwards logic you got there. rapists will always be rapists. the availability of legal "child porn" will not make rapists any less likely to want to go out and do it.
well you're obviously wrong given the results of this survey
Finally! Jesus.
not at all. completely backwards logic you got there. rapists will always be rapists. the availability of legal "child porn" will not make rapists any less likely to want to go out and do it.
Yeah but you're wrong, what you just said is a complete denial of of the scientific findings, which say make fake kiddie porn, and you'll be keeping the real kiddies safe.
Child porn is a illegal, better go rape someone instead.

I think it just sucks up a lot of resources trying to catch people halfway innocently downloading pornography onto their computers.
-snip twice in one thread i fail so hard-
Isn't lolicon legal already?
I think it just sucks up a lot of resources trying to catch people halfway innocently downloading pornography onto their computers.
It's not innocent. It's illegal. The porn harms kids. [editline]5th December 2010[/editline]
Isn't lolicon legal already?
Not everywhere.
Lower the consent age to 16, like any sensible nation would.
Isn't lolicon legal already?
Not in some countries. Besides, the laws are weird, for example, in the US it depends on whether the judge and jury think it's "obscene".
It's not innocent. It's illegal. The porn harms kids.

The study suggests "artificially produced materials,” not children, be used in the creation of pornography, and that pornography can often act as a substitute for sexual assaults.

Lower the consent age to 16, like any sensible nation would.
If I remember correctly, the United States age of consent varies slightly from state to state. In Arkansas, where I live, it's 16.
Lower the consent age to 16, like any sensible nation would.
What does that have to do with anything?
Lower the consent age to 16, like any sensible nation would.
...how the fuck would that help? Pedos go for kids who haven't hit puberty yet, besides its 16 in the UK folk still molest kids and shit.
Will never happen
What does that have to do with anything?
Some people go after 16 and 17 year old girls and get in trouble, then they are labeled as disgusting pedophiles, but pedophilia is generally under those ages. I think the age of consent should be 15.
Isn't the AoC in Japan, like, 12? Maybe 13?
Disgusting.
