it's a shame for the soldier and his family, but you have to question what would drive a man to do such a thing, and this event cannot be used to justify isreals aggression, occupation or apartheid in the palestinian territories.

Although I am strictly anti-Israel, I don't agree that he was killed regardless of the stance he might have had against Palestinian people. A life taken is a life taken, whether (s)he was a good or bad person. No one should have the right to take a life.

oh yes, i should have made clearer that i totally agree with you, i was just trying to give an indication of the issues behind it.
An additional security source told The Jerusalem Post that there have been more than 30 attempts to kidnap soldiers this year.
Apparently the Palestinians kill them before negotiating, which makes matters worse.
Whoever is rating this winner is heartless.

This. People think that because they're hating on a country with fucked up politics (Do go ahead and try to understand Israeli politics, they're fairly interesting) and media support, that makes them politically literate or cool. If the title of this thread was 'IDF Soldier brutally murders Palestinian', this thread would be booming with 'End to Israel!' and other messages of the sort.
Really, though. People are dying; it's nothing new. IDF soldiers are blown up and otherwise killed daily, which really adds to paranoia within Israel's troops. Palestinians are also dying due to this paranoia and it becomes a festival of fuck-all, being a nice reason to why the Middle East is such a wreck. Israel isn't the problem, because without retaliation, attacks would only grow in number (between religious extremism and other problems) and more Israelis would die. However, Palestine isn't the problem either because they're being viciously mistreated and booted out of their homes, regardless of whether or not the construction of Israel (as a safe-haven for the Jewish people) was necessary. The real problem here is the fact that neither side will back down until a resolution is reached and neither side trusts the other enough to negotiate.

IDF soldiers aren't dying daily that is such bullshit, they rarely put themselves in danger because Israel enjoys the PA's "security cooperation".
11+ idiots, here think IDF soldiers die daily.
Dont' worry, we will send them three billion so they can coup with the loss.
Age of conscription in Israel is 18, length of service is 3 years. This guy was 20.
Do the math yourself.
