Sex, dating, clothes, relationships, politics, sex, women—men have opinions about all of these things. And yet, there’s nowhere on the internet where you can go to read them. That changes today. Welcome to The Cuck, a pop-up, bespoke men’s site, for men.
Did they find out what /pol/ was saying about them?
Is this satire? This isn't actually real right?
Going out with a bang I guess.
I thought gawker had to divide up and sell all their assets to pay hogan his winnings?
I think some Linken Park would be appropriate here.
Because my skin is crawling.
Is Gawker now appealing to Trumpsters?
Basically, imagine if there were a Gawker for women. Then, imagine a version of that, but for men.
I'm looking forward to this enterprise.
i can't believe they named this site after their founder
I like the word "cuck". It offers a quick way for me to recognise which people are complete idiots and incapable of independent thought.
No, no. This can't be real. Fucking refuse to believe it.
I don't care if it's a subdomain of gawker.com, I don't care that it links directly to other Gawker sites, this is the stupidest fucking idea I've seen in a while.

Are you saying people who call themselves cucks are idiots? Or just the word?
I always thought of cucks as being weak men with no back bones.
On topic, why name your site after a word that is used to describe someone who lets their partner get fucked by someone else? I highly doubt I'd have anything in common with the men that use the site.
I think this is supposed to be yet another dig at men but it just reads as self awareness

people who use the word "cuck" unironically are idiots
even if you use it ironically you're still kind of an idiot
Isn't Gawker getting auctioned off today or real soon? This could be their big last "fuck you" to the internet.

He's referring to the alt-right shitposters of the internet who just spam "cuck" at anybody they disagree with/dislike, immediately voiding the value of their opinion since it's just a reactionary buzzword they parrot from muh /pol/
I think this is supposed to be yet another dig at men but it just reads as self awareness
to me it reads like a middle finger at hogan given the circumstances
to me it reads like a middle finger at hogan given the circumstances
I don't get it
This has to be some sort of joke ahahahaha
Their logo is a black cock
I don't get it
cuck's a bit of a meme in the context of a sexually inadequate man, and a sex tape of a man's wife being boned by hogan is what started this entire shitstorm of gawker shooting themselves in the knees
But I guess in hindsight it is a bit of a stretch of an assumption
people who use the word "cuck" unironically are idiots

I did the same for "kek" and "lel"

I've jokingly referred to myself as being a cuck just because I know lots of people (friends even) who will flip the fuck out should you mention anything with even the slightest liberal leaning. Their vocabulary includes "cuck", and it gets thrown around so much that it doesn't really mean anything anymore. I think the word is funny in a sad way, because it's being said to rile people like me up and I just don't really care about it. None of its definitions bother me, really.
Really though, it's just one of the many names that have been or will be replaced. It's basically a way to dismiss and categorize others as enemies - "moochers", "tumblrettes", "special snowflakes", "SJW", "feminazi", "berniebros", any reference to a hivemind, "rednecks", "thugs" - basically anything that puts "us" against "them".
It's why I personally try to look at people individually and actively monitor how many colloquialisms I end up saying. I'm not perfect in reducing my use of phrases and stuff like that, but I think that when you reuse a lot of what other people say, or if you use a common name to refer to something, you might not be thinking as independently as you could be, or you might not be portraying yourself as uniquely as you could be.
For instance, if I were to say "don't tread on me" - that kind of puts me in the same group as a lot of the people that say that - I'm not really being an individual at that point. If I were to say, "I don't want the government to take away my rights for firearms with extraneous red tape", I'm phrasing it how I think with more room for even the slightest bit of contrarianism or a separation from the extremes of my group. I think similarly with "cuck" - what are people trying to communicate with stuff like that? What is the point they're trying to make? "Don't be a cuck" doesn't really mean anything, and it kind of puts them in that group. And what about "right-wing nutjob"? Stuff like that is meant for dismissal, but doesn't explain anything. You could really extend this to a lot of phrases that are seemingly just said for the sake of being said - "fighting for freedom" is another one that comes to mind. Freedom of what? Fighting how? Is it really freedom?
I don't think any of this is useful or productive for that reason. It's just senseless shitflinging that I think reduces the person that's saying it. It becomes social habit and enforces groupthink. It encourages toxicity and a lack of consideration. It focuses on classifying people instead of arguing why the specific subject of the argument is incorrect. It focuses on writing people off as just being another... anything, really.
Satire is obsolete.
Hopefully this is just them throwing one last tantrum before the guillotine drops on Gawker Media.
Maybe Gawker is trying to make some quick cash at the end of it by getting a lot of clicks from people coming to check out this trainwreck

it's literally just devolved into a generic bad word insult, why are you taking it so personally lmao

Are you being sarcastic or what? Cuck as an insult, while not originating from /pol/, is certainly being spread by it, and you know anything that comes out of fucking /pol/ is bound to be completely retarded. That's where the whole unironic/ironic usage comes in that he's talking about.

Who cares about pol? You're only giving them more power by bitching.
All Gawker sites are purposely posting crappy articles this whole week because it's their last week owned by Gawker:
