Maximum Late.
North America
:smith:
The fact that they release it in north america first promotes piracy of the game in the rest of the world. I just can't fucking believe why publishers do this shit.
Fucking region restrictions, fuck them to the hell.
Is the campaign fun?
Woo waiting for my copy of Brosis 2 to arrive in the mail today

Tuesday is the first day of the new sales figure section in the United States, while Friday is something similar for most of the EU. EDIT: Hah, I didn't even look at the release dates for Crysis and I nailed it. Crysis releases the 25th of March in the EU, which is a Friday.
oh god, glad its not Europe, havent preordered yet
The Industry complains about piracy, yet they overprice their games, set regional restrictions, have intrusive DRM and (most) games are console ports. I'd imagine with the hype that Crysis2 will be the most pirated game of the year, but it didn't have to be that way. 4 simple problems outlined above with simple solutions.

It is released online, but they also release to brick and mortar retailers, who get very angry the instant you do something that gives digital download services an edge. I would too in their shoes. If steam got it 3 days in advance, then it would seriously hurt their sales.

And now I have to wait til fucking Friday.
No Directx11, no buy.
it's not friday "Release Date: 24 Mar 2011" from the steam page which happens to be Thursday and i live in sweden
Wikipedia says otherwise, but who knows. Sweden may sport a different system for tallying sales figures.
Ship it 3 days earlier or put the launch back by 3 days seems a simple solution to that.
And now you are screwing over American retailers. This isn't rocket science. They release them like they do because there isn't a better alternative.
No Directx11, no buy.
Will be patched in after a week or two they said.
I wonder if it still has a start screen, an absence of leaning, and a horrible FOV
I wonder if it still has a start screen, an absence of leaning, and a horrible FOV
and no configurable graphic options, no destruction, basically anything that the previous game had
Leaning was useless in Crysis, I don't know why people complain about it FOV can be fixed in console commands, which I used in the demo just fine. Start screen was fixed. Anways, got it in the mail. Installing now
Will be patched in after a week or two they said.
It's still stupid
The fact that they release it in north america first promotes piracy of the game in the rest of the world. I just can't fucking believe why publishers do this shit.
European certifications for games generally take longer. They have more stringent rules for what content can be displayed (germany), and thus it takes them longer to comb over games. North American certs are faster, which is why NA games are usually released first. Don't blame publishers, otherwise the alternative is to delay the North American release to coincide with Europe, do you really want that?
otherwise the alternative is to delay the North American release to coincide with Europe, do you really want that?
yes, a global release date
Leaning was useless in Crysis, I don't know why people complain about it
Some folks used it, like me. Why remove things that weren't broken anyways?
so i didn't read up anything about crysis 2 to keep it as fresh as possible - retailers around here broke the street date (since i don't live in the glorious americas but in dirty dirty europe) so i went ahead and bought it since it was cheap as fuck install it and woop "THIS GAME WILL BE UNLOCKED THURSDAY 24.03.2011" i just wanna buy a game stick it into the damn magic box and make it happen not have to read up on DRM methods before i can safely buy a game
Crysis 2 is done pre-loading for me
Some folks used it, like me. Why remove things that weren't broken anyways?
I agree that removing it was pretty silly, but the new cover system is alright.
One day, two hours, what a pain
