So nice to see other directors than George Lucas directing Star Wars moving and having so much [I]fun[/I] on the set, being amazed at the sets and props. Reliving their childhood.

After watching the behind the scenes stuff, it's pretty clear that he treated the prequels as an assembly line just so he could sell toys.
I've seen people defend the prequels with "Lucas directed the originals, so that means that the prequels are good." without realizing that his ideas had to get approved and that he was surrounded by talented people on the originals. The prequels were entirely him, and it shows.
After seeing Mark Hamill’s take on the new Star Wars saga I’m watching all of this with quite a few grains of salt.

It isn't fair to say he only did them to sell toys. He genuinely thought his work was awesome and he even waited 20 or so years to make them, as he believed the tech wasn't there yet to tell the story he wanted. Shit on Lucas all you want, he deserves much of it, but to say he only cared about the money is just wrong.
The only thing that was really bad about the prequels was the writing and acting really. The world and environments as well as the visuals were really great looking and genuinely felt like an entirely different universe. And don't get me started on the sound design.

well and they were just badly directed. everybody's sittin on a couch etc. etc.
