SANFORD, Fla. – A Florida man who fired at George Zimmerman's vehicle during a road-rage confrontation was sentenced on Monday to 20 years in prison.
Zimmerman said 38-year-old Matthew Apperson showed no regard for human life during the May 2015 confrontation, and even seemed joyful because he mistakenly thought he'd killed Zimmerman, The Orlando Sentinel reported.
Apperson was convicted by a Seminole County jury last month of attempted second-degree murder, armed aggravated assault and shooting into a vehicle. Apperson testified at trial that he acted in self-defense after Zimmerman flashed a gun. Zimmerman disputed that.
If I was Zimmerman I would have changed my name and moved very far away by now

This shit just writes itself...
How? How can this guy get 20 years but George is STILL free?
Is Zimmerman considered a hero in Florida or something?
Also Teflon Zimmer: can't be jailed, can't be killed.
How? How can this guy get 20 years but George is STILL free?
Because what George did was textbook self-defense.
What this road rager did was textbook firing a weapon within city limits with the intent to murder.

Because george zimmermen didnt recklessly do driveby attacks on people's vehicles?
Even if you dont think zimmerman is innocent this guy clearly isnt and we cant be having vigilantes shooting at people on the streets geez.
Doesn't matter how much you hate Zimmerman. The fact of the matter is that someone attempted to murder another person and there was evidence that supported this. Zimmerman is in the right on this one.

Regardless of how he initially gained his fame, Zimmerman has been nothing but a complete asshole with no regard for other peoples well being or safety. It's hard to believe that judges still side with him after all the shit he's pulled.

What if his attacker is telling the truth, and Zimmerman (who loves to pull out his weapons at so much as a cough) actually did flash his gun at him?

Good thing that court cases are decided on a case by case basis and not depending on how unpopular the plaintiff or defendant is

Oh so Zimmerman is the only asshole in the entirety of Stanford, FL. Everybody else is just an opressed poor civilian, got it.
Fuck you, as someone who was almost killed along with my family in a road rage incident a decade ago, you can't justify firing at other drivers.

That is a good thing, however when you are in court 5 times a year (exaggeration, I know) all for violent accusations, you'd think someone might start to question what's going on. Every time George is in the news it's because he's being aggressive, seemingly trying to start something up.
Saying Zimmerman isn't guilty of murder isn't the same thing as saying what he did was right.
I'm glad Apperson got 20 years, if you're willing to pull out a gun and shoot into someone's car over bullshit, you deserve to be removed from society for a very long time.
e: This guy is the epitome of why certain people should be barred from having firearms.

He's proud of himself though.

Pride has been the downfall of many men.

The sad part is he'd probably have gotten less time if he actually killed him.
At first I thought it was a harsh sentence for just shooting a car but he was actually inside it at the time. Completely warranted

According to the court, he actually doesn't "love to pull out his weapons". The court ruled that his account of being bashed into the ground and only firing his gun one time was consistent with the evidence they gathered.

but fuck the evidence, someone died and I read about it on the internet so I think Zimmerman is a piece of human scum!!!!!!!!!
People who think Zimmerman is human scum for what he did and should be in prison are probably the same people who think Hillary is still going to get arrested because of her e-mails even though she was found to not do anything illegal by the FBI.
Basically the people who believe they know best because they read about it on the internet but weren't present in the fucking trial to see the evidence.
Honestly, I'm surprised this guy is still alive considering a lot of people hate him.
Zimmerman however justified in the eyes of the law you feel his actions were, was and still is a pretty wretched human being.

One really doesn't disqualify the other there. Zimmerman's actions may have been ruled self defense (despite the fact that the entire incident was his fault and the evidence mostly boils down to his word against the dead kid's), but that was far from the only time he's been involved in questionable conduct with weapons, threats to use weapons, or general incidents of rage and violence.
Wait I thought Martin was in the wrong?
Wait I thought Martin was in the wrong?
The trial showed that Martin was pounding Zimmerman's head into the concrete. Zimmerman fired one shot to get Martin off of him.
Regardless of Zimmerman's personality. You don't pound someone's head into the concrete and expect to walk away.
But yeah, there are quite a few people who feel that defending one self if you make some poor choices should be illegal.

Both Trayvon Martin and George Zimmerman were questionable characters.
Trayvon was a troubled youth that was deep into getting high off purple drank. (Skittles, watermelon cocktail juice, and cough syrup.)
George Zimmerman is a probable rapist and nutjob who was and has been since in a bunch of disputes and controversies.
The basis of the case was that Zimmerman never should have gotten out of his car to pursue Trayvon as neighborhood watch, but did so anyways. When he lost sight of Trayvon he started heading back to his car, shortly thereafter Trayvon double backed to surprise attack George Zimmerman.

Wait he was a rapist? Was this before or after the trial?
Neither, throwing sexual assault allegations is just the hip thing to do now to anyone you hate (no I'm not defending Trump nor Clinton, they both have evidence).
This is the only thing I found during a quick Google search, he was 8 years old lol. Literally grasping at straws (you know what I mean).

Hahahahaha fuck this mentality. He hunted down an unarmed black man and shot him. How is that self defense?

So you think smashing someones skull against the sidewalk is normal for black people?
Hahahahaha fuck this mentality. He hunted down an unarmed black man and shot him. How is that self defense?
You know that you can be unarmed and very easily kill someone? It doesn't take very much force to purposely injure someone for life -- a 12 year old kid aiming for your eyeballs could probably do some serious damage.
You use the word "unarmed" as though it immediately inoculates that person, and makes them as dangerous as a tomato. Get your facts straight -- if you bothered to fact-check yourself and look at what happened in the trial, Zimmerman could very easily have been killed by Trayvon Martin if he didn't defend himself.
