Its a wired artilery shell, and the guy tugs at it before he realizes its wired.
"oh shit" That about sums it up.
These guys have such balls. I would probably be shitting myself if I saw that shit, they sort of just brushed it off.
He's one of the reasons so many get killed by IED's.
They don't look like they're getting too far away from it That's dangerous in itself
That's not a IED, it's a K39 FOXTROUT they are attached to the y axis of a motorary compulsury, not at the enigma fuel like a IED! the wire is from the KYEIU of the g-pad. At worst, it would make them cold ITS NOT EVEN REMOTELY CLOSE TO A BOMB! omg dumbasses with their swearing
Because soldiers know 100% about everything.
Your missing the joke, Sokrates made all of that up. Its literally all bullshit, every word. The joke is people on the internet sometimes act like armchair generals and pretend to be experts on war and munitions when they're really only teenagers with a laptop.

Afghanistan works like this Wires = Call EoD That is all
How come they are only two. Seems a bit risky when they are moving around in areas with IEDs don't you think?
He's one of the reasons so many get killed by IED's.
Or maybe hes the reason a whole squad didn't get blown to shit.
How come they are only two. Seems a bit risky when they are moving around in areas with IEDs don't you think?
There were guys further up the path and it looked like guys further back. IEDs would be one of the reasons you don't have the entire squad walking together in a huddled group so they can talk about their favourite pokemons; if you've got everybody in one place, then a single burst of fire from an enemy or a single IED could take all those suckers out. If you've got just enough spacing between each other then you're less likely to lose a everybody at once
Jesus christ, if that was me there'd be poo everywhere.
#1 rule of IEDs is that you're not supposed to touch them. The fact he was able to pick it up and rotate it over to see the wires without killing himself and his friend is amazing.
Everyone in this thread is an expert on I.E.D.'s the internet is incredible.
applying common sense =/= acting like an expert
Everyone in this thread is an expert on I.E.D.'s the internet is incredible.
I actually took a civilian course at my local police department and one of the subjects was about I.E.D.s, the instructor was a previous homicide detective who was hired by the Army to help find I.E.D.s and defuse them. So yeah, I know a little bit about them. Also, he dusted it off a little and said "Hey, an artillery shell." That should have been enough to back up and call in an I.E.D.
#1 rule of IEDs is that you're not supposed to touch them. Everyone is also defensive and assumes I'm being sarcastic.
They didn't have a minesweeper in their squad? Huh, I thought that shit would be practical by now. Needless too say, that guy had a whole fuckbutt load of Karma or something too just pick up that IED. Could have popped right in his face, seeing as how most IED's aren't made with the most reliable tools.
Everyone is also defensive and assumes I'm being sarcastic.
This is the internet it takes a lot of work and just the right amount of context (and also often people have to know who you are and how you normally type) to convey sarcasm
They are really awesome for being so cool-headed about the whole thing.
How come they are only two. Seems a bit risky when they are moving around in areas with IEDs don't you think?
Well, it would probably be better for 2 guys to die as opposed to a whole group.
Jesus christ, if that was me there'd be poo everywhere.
Poo that melts through the wires
