Gigafactory is such a menacing name :v:
Also, why compare a horizontal length to a vertical one? Seems kinda silly.
Nice hat.

i keep getting these messages
Just throws out that carbon tax right at the end.
Besides the building, would have been actually interesting to see what he would want in that.
use the carbon tax to manufacture tesla cars and sell them for $20
I think the biggest hurtle to getting away from current means of energy is defeating the businesses that support them. They will do anything to keep from being replaced, thus we cannot move towards more self sustaining energy. They simply won't allow it.
I've thought of having neighborhoods with solar panels on all houses in the neighborhood and a central battery station that contains and distributes energy to residents. I'm glad Tesla is at the forefront of this.
Holy fuck, I knew the gigafactory was big, but not that fucking big.
But I hope this all does gain traction, and we actually do move from fossil fuels to renewables in the near future.

Think this talk covers it. (this is the specific part, not the whole talk, which is good)

I am kind of interested how it compares to other plants.
I know this isn't one single building like the Gigafactory, but the VW plant I visited in Kassel was ridiculous in size.

I'd like to point out that their little animation see here:

Is slightly wrong. It shows whats currently there as the whole footprint. That's only phase 1.
The part that's built in that video is the black square here:

Some cities in California are starting to mandate solar panels being put on all new buildings.
Tesla is working with companies all around the world to get batteries at substations:

More context for the whole "lots of batteries can switch the world to renewables" thing

Does anyone find Elon Musk's sort of, jumbled and stuttery speech to be more trustworthy sounding? Like, more genuine? Good charisma when speaking just seems sort of manufactured. Like they're reading off a script.
He genuinely sounds like he's behind the points he makes and he's invested.

Probably similar to Obama's iconic 'uhhh'. It humanises him.

I like hearing him speak because it feels like he's gotten no real training on how to speak properly at a keynote which makes it feel more genuine and warm
listen to Tim Cook speak at an apple keynote, he's been trained, he knows what hotwords to say, hear Elon speak and he's reading off a script but also going in his own direction
