Main Cast: Max Records, Catherine Keener, James Gandolfini, Catherine O'Hara, and Lauren Ambrose When I first watched this movie, my expectations were to see a playful adventure throughout a land of wild things. What I got out of it at the end, was something much more than I could imagine. This move left me in awe on how it depicts the loneliness of a child, but how much the imagination can make up for it. This movie's heart warming tale tells a story about sadness, loneliness, and having a strong heart. A great movie for any age, and a great moral for anyone. Follow your heart, even if it may take you to wild places. Thanks for reading guys. imdb link: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0386117/ "I don't want you to go, I'll eat you up, I love you so. This was a great movie.
This was a great movie.
It really was man. It left me wanting more of that island.
Fucking loved it
it was a nostalgia roller coaster as well, it was one of the best movies of the year, and it's VERY underrated.
absolutely underrated, it was an incredible film and it did an amazing job of capturing raw emotions from a 9 year old perspective
I guess I'll have to see this one for myself. A friend of mine took his son to watch it and said it was a very depressing film which was essentially a story about a boy who "hung out with emo Carebears".
This is one of the rare occasions where the film has more content than the book it's based on.
I really want to see this. Childhood, the best of times, the absolute best. Any movie that can grasp at that time of innocence and beauty sounds great in my book.
I loved it too, went to see it with my whole family and they did too. The animation is very good too.
hipsters ITT i dont have to apologize to owls
Movie sucked
One of my favorite movies.

I've been putting off seeing this, not sure if it's worth it
/nostalgia
spike jonze is one of hollywood's greatest directors
The kid's a retard.
The kid's a retard.
No, he's socially-deprived. Which makes him better.
When's this out on dee vee dee?
I think I still have that book.
When's this out on dee vee dee?
March 2nd.
This movie was absolutely terrible, that kid was a whiny little self righteous bastard, his character totally ruined it for me; I just loathed him so deeply through the entire film. I wasn't the most sociable 9 year old but I certainly wasn't that much of a selfish waste of skin. [editline]12:47PM[/editline] Damn I can feel my blood pressure rising just thinking about him.

The fanbase only makes things worse, the film seems to serve its main purpose as a medium for pretentious hipsters to jack off over their inner spoiled child. :unsmigghh:

I think you're taking your "hate" for this movie into to much consideration when judging all the things that surround it.
bought it last night when I got off work, right around 12:05. ballin One of my favorite movies of all time. The depth behind it is amazing. It only irritates me that nobody really seems to comprehend what it's about; I guess maybe there's only a few of us who remember our childhood vividly and can relate to the character. I noticed everyone is bashing on Max' performance; reality is that pretty much every kid is a self-centered, self-important brat so I don't see why there's any bitching going on in the first place. What's wrong with you? Are you still too self-important to realize that you were a spoiled brat, too? You're on Facepunch; I'm assuming you're still being spoiled by mommy and daddy. Spike and Dallas Clayton, author of An Awesome Book (the best book in the universe) got together and made a blog called We Love You So. It's a pretty heartwarming read. I like how Spike is still working on Where the Wild Things Are and still holds loyal to the relatively small cult behind it. Not many directors do that, it seems. hahahahahahahaha (see below for slightly more meaningful response)

It's his opinion man.
i can't say i understand a lot of what you just said, i don't see how anything i just said could possibly relate to how many friends i might happen to have, or how it requires a high degree of social ability to tell someone they're awesome. i'm sorry if you don't agree with my opinions but assuming i'm a miserable sociopath because i wasn't too keen on a film you enjoyed is a little bit childish
