Indian and Pakistani troops have clashed near the Line of Control in the disputed Kashmir region.

Pakistan said Indian troops had raided a military post in the Haji Pir sector of Pakistani-administered Kashmir, killing a soldier and injuring another.
An Indian army spokesman said it had responded to a "ceasefire violation" but did not cross the Line of Control.
Kashmir is claimed by both nations in its entirety and has been a flashpoint between them for more than 60 years.
Exchanges are not uncommon but rarely result in fatalities.
The Pakistani military said in a statement that Indian troops had "physically raided a checkpost named Sawan Patra".
The Haji Pir Pass is just south of the main road from Muzaffarabad in Pakistan-controlled Kashmir to Srinagar in Indian-administered Kashmir.
"Pakistan army troops effectively responded to the attack," the Pakistani statement said, adding that Indian troops had left behind weapons as they retreated.
One Pakistani soldier was killed and another critically injured, it said.
Indian army spokesman Col Jagadish Dahiya told Reuters news agency it had responded to a "ceasefire violation" by Pakistan.
He added: "None of our troops crossed the Line of Control. We have no casualties or injuries."
Another Indian army spokesman, Col Brijesh Pandey, told Associated Press that Pakistani troops had "initiated unprovoked firing" with mortar shells and automatic weapons at Indian military posts. One civilian home was destroyed, he said.
"We retaliated only using small arms. We believe it was clearly an attempt on their part to facilitate infiltration of militants," Col Pandey said.
There has been a ceasefire in Kashmir since late 2003.
India suspended a peace process with Pakistan following attacks by Pakistan-based militants in Mumbai in 2008. Negotiations resumed in February last year.
Last month, the nations signed an agreement to ease visa restrictions on travel for some citizens.
Kashmir would be solved if they just simply let the people in that region have a referendum to decide for Pakistan, India or maybe even independence.
But then again, that isn't helping with Argentina with the Falkans...
The photo kinda looks like an ArmA 3 screenshot, lol. Now, back to the topic, I hope this doesn't escalate, both are nuclear powers with lots of potential manpower.

Yeah, because the obvious next step from a minor border skirmish is all out nuclear annihilation :v:

The problem is, if India decides to roll in a few more thousand troops to "ensure border security", the whole situation could keep escalating and escalating.

To all out nuclear war? Seriously?

Let's put it this way, if Pakistan and India beef up forces, and the confrontation escalates so much that one is forced to invade the other, and overwhelmed Pakistan throws a 10 KT nuclear warhead at an Indian formation, India would respond similar, and the attacks would keep ramping up and ramping up. This is completely hypothetical and I do think this is just a very tiny border clash in the history of border clashes, I'm just giving his scenario some weight.

no
no
Okay, read Hell's Door opened instead of a snarky, uncapitalized no.
Doesn't this happen often between India, and Pakistan?
Just to settle the case, if this turned into war I don't belive either would push to the use of Nuclear weapons since are in the UN and chances are a few nations (US) would intervene
No one wants to use nukes. Seriously, no one is that dumb.
Even back during the Cold War both the US and the USSR were scared shitless at the possibility of nukes being used. It was all dickwaving.
people seem to be underestimating how much india and pakistan hate each other, in 2001 the only reason india didn't attack pakistan was due to pakistani nuclear weapons, and even then, they seriously considered.

Can't be more so than 40 years of Soviet-American hatred toward each other and neither of them nuked it out.

Besides, the US is drone striking the living hell out of Pakistan. They're not going to give two shits about this little skirmish when there's so much other trouble for them.
