So for the last three months, this same bird keeps flying into the window that is at ground level. Every 20 to 30 minutes or so of every day it seems there's a *clunck* when it crashes into the glass.
I don't know what to do about it. It doesn't bother me as much as it does concern me for the well being of the bird. Crashing head first into a window can not be good for the poor guy.
What strikes me the most is that it does not only try to fly into that specific window. It goes around the house to the window for my parent's bedroom and flies into that one as well. I am guessing it really wants to get into our house. I am tempted to open the window and let it fly in, but that's not such a good idea.
Are there any suggestions or ideas to get this poor bird to stop braining itself every time it crashes into the window?
No dumb/harmful suggestions like "kill it" or anything.
Tried to let the window stay open?
It's got brain damage, nothing can help it now
Move.
It's just suicidal.
The bird thinks it's not there, put up something to distinguish the window like a poster,sticker,blinds,shades.. anything really.
Ask it to stop.
open up your window and put a cage in the window and cage it and keep it as a pet
I see how that is annoying to you, hearing that bird banging to the window next to you all day.
It probably has a nest somewhere inside
Mark your territory :smug:
They are already starting to attack...
Stock up as much food in your basement as you can. Start boarding your windows now.
open the window and see what happens.
If all else fails, shoot the fucker.
Spikey windows!

Slam your head against that a few times.

We tried this. We have the blinds closed most of the time and it still does not discourage the bird.

I was actually thinking about doing this. The problem is if I ever want to let it go, it'd die in the wild because it got so accustom to human intervention. It would also not be accepted by other birds because it's got the stank of human on it.

Then it probably has cancer and brain damage.

Try something more extreme like an object outside the window, like a planter or something and if it still does it... that bird has the :downs:

That's foam soundproofing.
Get a bird feeder. It might be more entertained with that then flying into your windows.
I think it's a common thing.
I'm pretty sure I've read a thread about this before, & the same thing happened to me recently.
I just sat back and watched & eventually it stopped
Haha, stupid birds.
Pft, that's nothing.
We have a bird (or it's children, how long do birds live?) that's been around for two years that keeps flying into every single window of our house constantly all day.
I was thinking of making a thread about it.

It's just natural selection. Let the little birdie keep on flying into the window until it dies.
