There was a turnout of more than 90% from 1,672 British citizens eligible to vote in a population of about 2,900. It follows pressure from Argentina over its claims to the islands, more than 30 years after the Falklands War.
:allears:
Good
And nobody was surprised. [editline]11th March 2013[/editline] My automerge!
I would love know their reasons for voting no, would be interesting.
The people have decided who will govern themselves. Cristina needs to learn to fuck off.
I would love know their reasons for voting no, would be interesting.
The people who said no could be for either becoming Argentinian or going independent
And nobody was surprised.
Argentina will at least claim to be surprised.
Did the 4th person abstain?
Argentina will claim rights by those three now. Good job, you three. You have doomed your island! :v:
Did the 4th person abstain?
The fourth person voted for the cookie.
The fourth person voted for the cookie.
I love how there seems to be an EEnE snippet for every situation.
Cast all three of them off the island
and more butthurt inbound from Argentina
Bunch of hipsters I bet.
Maybe Argentina will consider this a good amount of people to decide that the Falklands is rightfully theirs, it wouldn't be out of the question for them.
Of 1,517 votes cast in the two-day referendum, 1,513 were in favour of keeping the current status
1517 - 1513 is 4 you idiot.
3 voted against? "By your powers combined, the island is now Argentine!"
UK should now just offer, not force, but offer, to buy the real estate of these people and fully cover them moving to mainland Argentine, and declare the islands as 100% Brittish land, forever.
The question was "Do you want the Falkland Islands to maintain their current political status as an overseas territory of the United Kingdom" so those who voted against didn't necessarily want to become Argentinian
Well those Argentinian spies made themselves pretty obvious.
What the Falk?
The three who voted against were actually Argentinian spy. That's about the extent of what Argentina can do, vote no on a ballet.
The people have decided who will govern themselves. Cristina needs to learn to fuck off.
No no because the vote was totally irrelevant and it doesn't concern the people whatsoever and anyway no one in the world is gonna take it seriously ever
I love how they argue that the Islanders are "British Implants" (Let alone that ignores that there is more blood there than just British - including Patagonian and Chilean descendents) I.. uh.. I'm sorry.. but aren't you just Spanish and German implants? And more importantly, didn't you.. you know... wipe out the Patagonians (near enough) to have your cosy little nation? Something the Falklanders noteably didn't do... because there are no native Islanders. Fucking Hypocrites, and the fact that people actually take their mouthing off seriously with that glaring irony is beyond belief. Hopefully this referendum will go some way to bringing the Islands to the attention of the wider world in a positive light (You know, self-determination etc, all those principles of Democracy that we spout about)

Argentina you need to asimilate the population there somehow before you go with your bullshit
