I dunno, could be something else too. Personally, I thought that other matadors should never interfere in a bullfight: Just bull and fighter. That way, the fighter fights honorably and accepts the outcome if he 'loses'.

I didn't know matadors killed the bulls, i thought they just pranced around until either: A: they got tired and left the "arena" or B: the bull got tired/beat the shit out of the matador
