Because every kid wants to be that badass tough guy that gets respect and doesn't take shit from nobody. That's why nobody makes eye contact in Philly, you don't wanna tick off that one idiot who's looking for trouble in the middle of the sidewalk.
There's nothing for the kids to do because nobody gives a shit about them so they have to pretty much make up entertainment and violence is pretty cheap.

The kind of person that does this is not the kind of person that's going to be kept unarmed by guns being banned. They will just go to a black market gun shop and get a piece anyway.

Please, the school shooting thread had a fucking sewer of arguments over gun control, lets not have another debate over it. Not much else to be said besides how this guy is a fucking dick for shooting people over a game, hope he gets arrested quickly.
This is pretty common in philadelphia. Sports are always serious business here and Philadelphia fans are the most "True" about their feelings, the most vocal and physical. So these guys were just making themselves targets in an already unsafe area.
I'm not saying they deserved this, or the shooting was warranted, or this was brought upon themselves, i'm just saying they definitely made themselves targets by celebrated an opponent's victory on a train filled with disappointed fans of the losing hometeam.
