• My Little Pony Took Over My School.

Hi. Let me start by saying When this whole thing started, I didn't have a stance on it, I was Completely Impartial. I was somewhat annoyed by the animated gif images everywhere on the internet but I didn't care very much. At my school I have about 3 internet based friends and they all instantly became "Bronies" when this appeared, Still I remained impartial. I go to a private school so things are usually pretty relaxed but there strict about things like hanging papers on the wall or changing the background of the Macintosh computers they have for some reason, and crack down hard on people who do this. On the 5th day after I learned of the Pony obsession, My friend pointed out a small, secluded My little Pony Picture hanging on the wall in my Spanish class with some ""funny"" caption under it. I was urged to remove it but I didn't, assuming one of the teachers would take it down when it got noticed. The next day it was gone but 3 other different pony pictures popped up in different locations on the wall. It irritated me, I confronted my friends, accusing them of doing them but they say they didn't put them there. I barely believed them but they're not usually liars so I believed them. Slowly, over time, I began getting more and more annoyed when I would talk to them and the conversation shifted to my little pony. One of my friends began pushing and pushing the show making me hate it more and more. I kept telling him "I WILL NEVER BECOME A BRONIE!" After a while I was flipping through the channels on my TV and it was on. I stopped it to see a bunch of ponies with apples painted on there asses. About 15 minutes of observation, I still couldn't find anything appealing about the show, and changed the channel. My exact thoughts were "How can someone with a dick find anything good in this show?". After about three days, my school was covered with My little pony pictures. One of my teacher's Guitars was covered in them, like Wallpaper, completely coated in it, and every Macbook and iMac had diverse My little pony Desktop backgrounds. Now I'm Pissed, I couldn't avoid it for my life, The teachers are completely overlooking it, People began accusing me of doing this because I have a history of screwing with the macs. It's fucking with my life and I can't do anything to stop it. I tried taking them down but a ton pop back up. What do I do!?!? I'm sorry if this is in the wrong section, I'm a little lost on this site.
"I barely believed them but they're not usually liars so I believed them."
Yeah sorry wrong section. This would fit better in Fast threads. BUT yeah that sounds like really bad. It's best just to try and ignore it or tell them to fuck off. The show is going on a 6 month hiatus, hopefully the fad will die soon.
My god, they started spreading this shit out of the internet? Thank god my country is full of dim-witted morons who watch only the sports channel. I guess I'm safe...for now.
MLP is jus a fad. Watch it die in few months.
I have a quote for you:
We are the Bronies lower your shields and surrender your ships, we will add your biological and technological distinctiveness to our own. Your culture will adapt to service us. Resistance is futile.
[editline]10th May 2011[/editline] Also I'm pretty sure we don't need another thread.
I have a quote for you: [editline]10th May 2011[/editline] Also I'm pretty sure we don't need another thread.
You aren't Bronies. Your fucking messed humans. And no you don't have the GUTS to attack a ship. Shut the fuck up and stop dreaming.
Uuuh, I'm laughing at this. But I do see why this annoys you (I can relate, getting unwanted pressure to do something you don't want is fucking annoying.), Espically that people are now accusing you of actually partaking in this event, You should ask your friends in all honesty that if they done it again, and if they decline then say is it any of their friends, and even if they say they don't do it. ask for them to stop pressuring you to do something you do not want, it only hurts the relationship you have with them as friends, and to stop putting up the photo's or ask those who are to stop as you're getting partially blamed for doing nothing. [editline]10th May 2011[/editline] Also, Moeislack, even if you do find it funny with a jab with the community's slang, other people might not find it as funny as could go far as annoying. It only damages the community's and peoples views on us, please stop and keep the slang in the MLP : FiM thread,.
I can't fucking believe a children's show could cause a shitstorm this large. What the hell is our world coming to?
Ive said before, people watching it dont bother me. But people saying "Bronies" definitely does. It just sounds ridiculous.
Yeah, some people are retards like that when they become fans of something. I'd just try to ignore it and eventually someone will step in and put an end to it. Either that or the retards will just burn themselves out eventually and stop on their own. If you get all mad it'll just encourage them.
You aren't Bronies. Your fucking messed humans. And no you don't have the GUTS to attack a ship. Shut the fuck up and stop dreaming.
Hey there internet tough guy number one, I'm internet tough guy number two. I once beat a person to death with my penis. stop being so insecure about the things other people are enjoying and learn to, you know, ignore them and stuff. [editline]1:11[/editline] oh wait I just banned this guy in another thread, go figure.
I once beat a person to death with my penis.
:wtc: And where i am, noone seems to like MLP. The only place i hear about it is here on Facepunch.
Every fad, hobby, and whatchamahavit is going to have fans that are pants-on-head retarded. The trick is to not let the obnoxious fans represent the legitimate fans who aren't shoving it in everyones' faces.

We have you, with a good opinion which makes sense, then we have that guy a bit further up using "bronies" like MLP fans are a different species or something. When some fans are so idiotic at times, it does become alot easier to generalize.

The only problem is that using phrases, words and inside jokes outside the fanbase is a great way to rub people the wrong way. Unfortunately, Facepunch has the bad habit of jumping on rabid hatewagons when it comes to different things. Anime is a fine example. A lot of anime fans are cool people and quite normal, but a lot of people on FP are content to call any and all anime fans "weeaboos". (A practice that irritates the hell out of me, since no one seems to remember what that word originally meant"). Honestly, the irritating portion of a fanbase is often eclipsed by the extremist portion of the opposing side. Whether it's calling every anime fan a weeaboo or telling MLP fans to kill themselves, every side has a group of people within them that take things just a step too far.
Arguments are better when they are civilised.
Arguments are better when they are civilised.
but this is the internet
but this is the internet
And we have proven its possible to argue without the need for swearing or bad spelling.
You aren't Bronies. Your fucking messed humans. And no you don't have the GUTS to attack a ship. Shut the fuck up and stop dreaming.
I'm sorry did he just take a starship as reality?
I'm sorry did he just take a starship as reality?
Just ignore him. Part of that whole "rabid anti-fanbase" thing I mentioned.
but this is the internet
So? I always try to at least get some sort of proper argument going, with points and counter-points. Sure, usually the people I argue with probably haven't studied philosophical debating, but you need to try to convince someone with logic and reasoning, not just blind "I am right and you are wrong" mentality and stubborness. Just because it's the internet, doesn't mean that standard social conventions shouldn't apply. [editline]10th May 2011[/editline]
Just ignore him. Part of that whole "rabid anti-fanbase" thing I mentioned.
And yeah. It's generalising an entire fanbase upon it's worst members.
Just ignore him. Part of that whole "rabid anti-fanbase" thing I mentioned.
Indeed. I should use that the next time I'm in an argument. "You don't have the BALLS to fight that fucking dragon."
Just because it's the internet, doesn't mean that standard social conventions shouldn't apply.
indeed it shouldn't matter, but my point was more that there will always be bitching about everything because everyone has a heightened sense of entitlement and ballsiness due to the anonymity and lack of threat of being attacked back physically for saying something really dumb.

Facepunch: Login. Even if you create another account, you can get banned from both for shitposting. Steam: No matter how many times you change your url or Steam name, people can just grab your steam id. Almost anything like a forum or a place for discussion requires some form of identity nowadays, and with the exception of 4chan, you can't really use anonymity anymore. Of course, if you don't put yourself into anything, and remain completely unknown amoung internet circles, I guess you can.
You aren't Bronies. Your fucking messed humans. And no you don't have the GUTS to attack a ship. Shut the fuck up and stop dreaming.
Funny how replacing one word can piss someone off.

It's part of Gabriel's Greater Internet Fuckwad Theory, which states: Normal Person + Anonymity + Audience = Total Fuckwad.

I've known several idiots who troll it up on facebook because they know they'll never actually run into the other person in real life (usually). it's the lack of actual physical danger, being able to say mean, painful things and think nothing of it because they can ignore the text that comes back, can walk away from a conversation after writing a catalyst, or continue to give someone an aneurism about something.
MLP is jus a fad. Watch it die in few months.
I wouldn't worry about it dying until the show goes off the air. And seeing how well it's been going (and how Season 2 is in the works), that won't happen in quite a while. [editline]10th May 2011[/editline]
You aren't Bronies. Bro as in "hey bro wassup"
I can't fucking believe a children's show could cause a shitstorm this large. What the hell is our world coming to?
It's coming to nothing. It's just that. A kids show. NOT the end of the world.
