Atleast they can get proper crash reports now. Too bad I can't play it until sunday.
Seems like European (other regions) version of this game will have less bugs in the release time
The game isn't bad really, at least on Steam anyway. Its actually quite fun once you get in to it. The challenges are shit though. The only problem is sometimes the AI gets stupid. One mission, about halfway through, the AI for my entire team (Security) forgot we needed to repair a crane so we spent ten minutes of me frantically trying to repair the thing alone. You also only unlock the weapons and attachments from the challenges. Levels unlock abilities and apparel, and its intermittent. The game isn't quite what they promised, but it isn't shit like people are makings it out to be. As far as I'm aware, there are some connectivity issues on the 360, but I've not had those on Steam yet. With a few good patches and some tweaking on a couple things, its could be really great. I mean, I've had a lot of fun running along a wall, jumping off and sliding along the ground to knock a guy down, then gunning him down and turning to beat the shit out of his buddy.

And interestingly enough, the lower the graphics setting were, the more of my processor was being used, the more RAM was being used, and the hotter my graphics card was running. But when I set everything to max, it actually ran much better than on lower setting but still looked markedly better. Curious to say the least.

You kidding me? It's really fun and personally i have waited SO long for a coop game with deathmatch and objectives mixed together.
You sure you didn't just fall for the peer pressure and say what everyone else said, based on the reviews?

Haven't even read the reviews.

It runs better when you set it higher because it starts using the GPU more instead of the CPU, because it's a console port.

Lol, it's hardly a console port. The PC version is leagues better than the console versions because Splash Damage is a PC dev.

Doesn't consoles use the cpu more than the gpu? Atleast that's how it seemed in GTA IV.

If they are a PC developer, why were all the videos of it taken on an xbox?
If they are a PC developer, why were all the videos of it taken on an xbox?
That's an outright lie?
EDIT: where's that screenshot involving the cooperative play explanation that bashes console users?
If they are a PC developer, why were all the videos of it taken on an xbox?
Oh wow.
I think the game is amazing, the only problem is the metagame could use some work. There just isn't enough to unlock from leveling up.
The opening moments of the game make fun of console players.
It gives you a little popup box that says you can watch a video that shows the basics of the game, and says that it is meant for console players who aren't accustomed to that gameplay, but that PC gamers should have no problem but might find it entertaining.
The videos are indeed recorded with xbox footage, and it says to use Tab for the objective wheel when the default key is middlemouse, but these are very minor things. The the only 'PC feature' I've not seen the game have is a command console, and I could easily just not know of it.
It does support full graphics options, it does support mouse and keyboard just fine, you can rebind, etc.
This is the same shit as "Portal 2 is a console port" because someone found the 1 frame of "Don't switch off your console".

I don't even like the game, but such claims are unfounded.
Can we get an update that makes the game worth the price now?

hint to dumb raters: this game isn't worth 50 dollars, no game is and will ever be

Portal 2 and Crysis 2 did that to.

I'm curious as to how you know this, if you don't own it? Don't go around saying something isn't worth something if you've never played it. (By the way, you're completely wrong)
And what a surprise, neither do the two guys who agree with you.

I don't need to have played it to know that games are generally not worth 50 dollars. But, by the way, I have played the game, and I didn't get a single bit of enjoyment out of it. The potential was there but it was never actually put to use. It could have been a good game, but it was rushed toward its release date. It should have been given another month or so to fix up all the glaring AI issues, at least. Don't go around saying my opinion isn't worth something unless you're positive I don't know what I'm talking about.
Portal 2 :colbert:
"It's a Valve game" doesn't make it worth 50 dollars. I bought Portal 2 for 45 literally one minute before release because it was that tough of a decision for me. I was about to say it wasn't worth it but I did it for Valve and not because I had the money to spare.
As usual, people who didn't like the game gets bitched at by the people who tell themselves they like the game while the people who actually like the game don't give a fuck and are currently playing it.

So what is worth 50 dollars if no video game is? I think 50 bucks is quite a good price for a game with hundreds of hours of gameplay.

Then you've either pirated it or got it on console. Both which, in my opinion, would take away from the game.

Doesn't matter how or where I played it, I didn't like it. It didn't live up to the hype people put on it during the few weeks before its release. The launch trailers made it look awesome and then it turned out to be sincerely less awesome.
But, again, it's my opinion. You can't change mine and I can't change yours. Therefore this discussion really has no point other than a timesink I could be using to write other things before my carpal tunnel syndrome onsets and my fingers get so numb I can't type properly any more. But, that won't happen for another couple of years of arguing about whether games are worth fifty dollars or not. I've had this discussion before and I'm definitely not anxious to have it again. Maybe Brink was just one of those games that "wasn't for me". There are a lot of games like that nowadays.
You know, I've noticed this quite a bit.
If you like a game, go fucking play it. Stop sitting a forum and yelling at people who disagree with you.
No ones yelling, we're having a discussion, and last time I checked that's what forums are for. I would be off playing the game but I'm in the EU and I'm trying to hold off so I can play without a VPN.
Doomish, I'm in no way saying that your opinion isn't allowed or whatever, but the way youre posting is like you're stating facts. In your last post you say "it didn't live up to the hype", except for some people it did. If you pirated the game (which I expect you did, I honestly don't care) then you're missing out on the multiplayer of a game built for multiplayer - so yes, in some cases it does matter how or where you played it.

Played the multiplayer too. Like the rest of the game, it was a letdown. More fun than the single player by far, but it still didn't live up to the standard consoles have set for multiplayer gaming. There wasn't enough to keep me interested for more than a few matches. I'm going to quote myself here and then stop bickering about the quality of Brink so I can go to bed:
But, again, it's my opinion. You can't change mine and I can't change yours.
[editline]12th May 2011[/editline]
One last thing: I didn't pirate it. I more borrowed it from a generous real-life friend of mine (if you can borrow Steam games) who lent me his account info (and the steam guard code) so I could play it myself. We do that every so often, that way we can both play the game, but only one person has to buy it.
hint to dumb raters: this game isn't worth 50 dollars, no game is and will ever be
Just Cause 2
Fallout 3
BattleField Bad company 2
Metro 2033
I'd consider all of those worth 50. When they came out. They aren't worth that now, simply because they've been out awhile.
It runs better when you set it higher because it starts using the GPU more instead of the CPU, because it's a console port.
Seems like everyone nowadays is using this excuse for any problem in a game.
