Thread still under development! YEAR: 2029 THREAD MUSIC: CIRCUMSTANCES: The European Union and it's countries, much like the rest of the world, have fallen due to unrest and war; the continent has been picked clean for it's resources, resulting in a resource shortage. The continent is also dangerous; destruction and chaos have brought things such as droughts, heat waves, and more to the region. Stakes are high and every group of soldiers, every gallon of water, and every bit of material (such as metal, basically any materials used in the construction of valuable things, such as weapons, tech, and more.) is valuable. Over time a collection of these things have been acquired, and new groups are forming. This has led to the research of new technologies, the acquisition of large areas of land, and the construction of cities, as well as newly blooming economies full of trade and more. The region can come together to create entire civilizations, or they can fight for power and take what they want. This all depends on these new groups. RULES: Declare before you make a post. Do not powergame. (Ex: Overpowering everyone; creating huge unrealistic nations, etc.) Do not metagame. (Ex: Using out of game information in game; using information against someone that you wouldn't know in game.) You may not skip anyone's turn unless they have not posted their turn for over an hour. Use common sense. CREATING A NATION: Fill out this information and make a post using the map (make sure to declare!) with your nation on it.
Nation Name: Population: Type of Government: Leader: Capital: Flag (Optional): Sprite Sheet (For battles; optional): Technology (0-100%) Giving details about your technology would be great, such as what technologies you already have, etc. Don't make it too futuristic. Economy (Planned 0-100% Free) Details about how your economy is planned, and how strong it is would be good. Don't make it too powerful; remember, there aren't a lot of resources. Military (Small 0-100% Large) Information on how your military works and more info on how big it is would be cool. Don't make your military too big; remember, there isn't a lot of manpower. Most of our fuel sources are self sufficient, like solar power and some nuclear power plants as well. Wheels have been left behind in favour of an electromagnetic vehicle system, with most city vehicles operating on essentially a large metal grid which is buried underneath the earth. Off-grid vehicles are usually for flight, and some vehicles have wheels that can extend for off-grid transport. Most of the area in cities and the surrounding parts is part of the grid. Weapons have evolved, and now Gauss rifles are popular for great power, though the larger sniper rifles can't be silenced due to the sonic boom of the bullet. Normal guns are still around for main troops. Economy (Planned 0-100% Free) Details about how your economy is planned, and how strong it is would be good. Don't make it too powerful; remember, there aren't a lot of resources. 79% While business is completely open to all, the government does run its own companies to encourage competition in areas that need it. Military (Small 0-100% Large) Information on how your military works and more info on how big it is would be cool. Don't make your military too big; remember, there isn't a lot of manpower. 74% Our military isn't exactly large, but using a general "Serve a Year" system that can be served any time except before 16, it ensures every person who can work knows how to fire a gun. The military is made of Infantry, Navy, and the Air Division. Infantry is the largest, with 75,000 serving troops. Navy covers 50,000, and Air Division is only 25,000. A.D. tends to be the one with the biggest budget, since their training is extensive, and some soldiers of theirs join this little 'project' that seems to take them away for a while. I can't post at this exact moment but I call Romania - dear lord its going to be hard to figure out those borders especially with no rivers.
I dunno, maybe they are dried out :P

A group of diplomats is sent to greet Feidrich, and ask if the would like to establish trade routes and possibly become allies in the future.
Declare
Is it really a good idea to divide the people who play this into 2 threads?
Seems interesting(all previous were set in past)
We didn't vote on it. Me and Killowatt thought Spore was a bad GM, so we quit and started a new thread because we believe we can do better.
Daamn milk that must be one huge declare when it's taking so long
Not really, I'm getting my faction straight first, sorry :x
Ok, lore is important
This might take longer than I expected. This map is really shitty, IMO
Yea,islands and some things look like they are connected to land

Nation Name: Freerunners Population: Est. 1,500-2,000 Type of Government: N/A, Organized Anarchy Leader: Dmitri Greigorovich (By popularity) Capital: Prypiat Flag (Optional): Sprite Sheet (For battles; optional): None Yet Technology (0-100%) 90% The Unorganized manner and limited of the Freerunners as an actual group is offset by the amazing and ingenious people of science operating inside their "borders". Technologies found in the Chernobyl exclusion zone where the Freerunners live are often far ahead of their time, and although not mass produced by any order, far more advanced than the scientific community would achieve on an average basis. Economy (Planned 0-100% Free) 100% The Zone's economy is largely trade-based, and completely unregulated, making it a hot spot for illegal traffickers of goods and traders willing to make a buck off the Freerunners and associated scavenging groups located in the zone. Military (Small 0-100% Large) 100% In a relative manner, the group's military is the largest in the world, as without a formal military, every "Freerunner" and associated scavenger group is armed with at least the most basic previous-decade weapon. Despite their often outdated arsenals, most veteran Freerunners know the Exclusion zone very well, and how to manage their resources inside it, making them a very formidable force even to large National militaries. Other details: (This can be used for any information that can't be listed above.) The Freerunners are not as much a formal nation as they are a unanimously agreed upon "Culture phenomenon" of Scavengers, traders, and scientists operating within the Chernobyl Exclusion zone, consisting of Ukrainian natives, Russians, and various other people that have come from all over the world for whatever reason. The origins of the Freerunners can be traced all the way back to 2007, when a secret operation being done by a foreign military to steal intel on top secret projects being done in the Exclusion zone went horribly wrong, releasing ludicrous amounts of additional radiation into the the zone, as well as a host of other anomalous side effects, such as macro-mutation of the area's wildlife into dangerous, predatory animals, as well as electro-magnetic fields that interfere with the brain caused by leftover experimentation facilities, and other gravity and electricity related anomalies. These anomalies tend to create Valuable objects with favorable effects when worn around the body, as well as experimental technologies left behind by Ukrainian scientists, which drew people into the zone. Only more recently, has the population swelled to over a thousand Individuals Identifying themselves as "Freerunners" or other types of scavengers that acknowledge the group's control over certain areas. The Freerunners' territory is not as entirely the land they control as the land they live and operate in, however the Freerunners have maintained control over major population areas that are scattered across the zone, essentially making them owners of the "Mainstream" zone area. Other, more dangerous, and mysterious areas are no-man's land, and not one has dared to venture further. STALKER yay' I also changed the scale to the one me and Killowatt agreed upon, because that's still way too big.
yaay now i declare
Also, if you make another retarded country we're just going to kick you right off the bat.
Do not worry This map is horrible i can't differ islands from mainland
Just pretend the water between them dried up or some shit
Nation Name: Slavia Population: 50 million Type of Government: Socialism Leader: Samuilo Gavrilovich Capital: Nimrodgrad Flag (Optional): Sprite Sheet (For battles; optional): Not yet Technology 90% Slavia has some highly advanced technology, both in military and in the civil sector. Their newest thing is the "zap gun",an gun that can shoot electrical bolts and works similar to a stun-gun,but lethal. Doesn't require a wire and a stuff tho. Currently researching how to mine in space effectively. Economy 0% planned as hell Economy is extremely planned and is mediocre because of that. Military 85% Military used to be large, but the catastrophe has caused a drop in numbers. Very strict and able, favors psychological warfare. Other details: Slavia is a medium-sized nation with many cities, and is incredibly pan-slavic. All foreign lands are effectively slovenized thanks to immense propaganda. Currently it's mostly focused in fixing this nasty situation in the world. The dark orange are the province borders.
Quite a big country for a post-apoc in a region that only contains that amount of people, if not less. [editline]5th February 2013[/editline] I don't get why you're so obsessed with slavs
Now this I am definitely joining.
Gonna join now?
I think IPK should note that neither Greeks or Albanians, half of his nation, are not actually Slavs. Also if IPK does anything stupid for a third time, he needs to be kicked permanently. Three strikes. I really like that idea of provinces though - looks alot nicer. EDIT: Dear god Romanian borders. I feel so bad for the Czechs, they don't even have an ocean to use as a reference point.
Yeah, provinces would be good.

Yea numbers aren't my ability. What would be more reasonable without the need to change the city sprites?
Think about it. Additionally, compare it to currently existing nations.
