...his actor, that is.
Sony are suing for this! Not only are they suing Bridgestone for the commercial, they're also suing Wildcat Creek, Inc.
Who are they? Well, evidently they're the advertising company hired by Bridgestone for the commercial. According to this their president is none other than Jerry Lambert.
Sony sues Kevin Butler lol

Here's a link to the commercial (it was taken down from YouTube):

im sorry, whos suing what now?
come again, houston?
Seriously Sony, you act as though the actor who plays Kevin Butler can't go out and do other commercials besides Sony Commercials
im sorry, whos suing what now?
Bridgestone made a commercial (posted above) showing Jerry Lambert playing with a Wii. In response, Sony is suing Bridgestone and Jerry Lambert's advertising company.
Wait, why?
They're suing him for playing a Wii in a commercial?
For those who are unaware, Kevin Butler was a character created for Sony adverts.

Now his actor has done an advert for Bridgestone which shows him playing a Wii. That is why Sony are suing.
So, Sony's suing their old spokesman for playing a Wii?

What dumbasses.
Kevin Butler is fucking funny

It's funny because he wasn't playing Kevin Butler in the commercial but a Bridgestone technician playing a Wii.
Expected Kevin Butler playing a Wii
Got unnamed technician character playing a Wii

His face when this will be thrown out of court in no time.
I didn't know it was legal to own a person
The worst part about this though is that we definitely won't be seeing any more Kevin Butler.
They aren't suing Kevin Butler or the actor that portrays him.
He was in an episode of Malcolm in the Middle that I watched the other day, series 1.
Just to clear this up, they aren't suing the actor, they're suing the company that hired him for the commercial. Still retarded though.
Sony is suing Bridgestone, because they had Jerry Lambert use a Wii in their commercial.
Unless he signed some binding contract that I'm not aware of, this is fucking retarded.
Does Sony want to be accused of Slavery?
Jerry Lambert is fucking funny
ftfy
sorry :x
He's obviously guilty. The butler is always the one who did it.

:v:
When I first saw the Bridgestone commercials, I was a tad bit surprised. It was a bit ironic for him to be a spokesperson, albeit not in as much detail as he is with the PS3, for another console. But I didn't quite think it bring apon a lawsuit!
If your going to be pranced around as the "Vice President of Playstation," I think it is safe to say you might want to avoid ads using competitors equipment, if you don't want to lose that spot.
Surely he thought, "Man, this is super ironic. Maybe I should just be some other technician, one that is not playing the Wii."
Or just deny the ad. I'm sure he could have gotten another gig somewhere else.

Sony does not own an actor unless he is under contract (which he wasn't AFAIK), no matter what role he played during a segment of theirs.
What was the last thing Kevin Butler did? It's been ages since I've seen one of his ads.

Sony Press Conference at E3, I think?
Nintendo should put him in a Wii U commercial just because of this silly drama.
