This seems to happen a lot in these sorta videos, where people panic and instead of having the reaction to lift your foot off the gas and slam it on the break, they just slam the gas all the way down. It's pretty dumb.

honestly I've almost done the same multiply times when i was learning to drive. I would realize what i was doing before any damage was done but i would still spook myself out. Something is also screwy in my head and when people say left my mind immediately thinks right. I get yelled at so much about it but I can't help it. I'm just not meant for driving and I honestly hate it so I try to avoid as much as possible.

Like someone else said - not really a mystery, they've hit the accelerator instead of the break.

Seen quite a few crashes locally where this has happened and you just think "how the fuck" to begin with but it makes sense if you think about what would happen if the above happened.

Volkswagen mate.

They're lazy as fuck, when converting cars to RHD they leave the indicator and wiper stalks in their LHD positions. It's a pain in the ass to get used to having the indicator on the left hand side, many a time I've accidentally turned on the wipers when trying to indicate in my mum's Tiguan.

To be honest, this is pretty typical for a Tiguan. The diesel engine has no power and just crawls along, then when the turbocharger spools up and boost comes on, you get a sudden burst of power. She probably wasn't prepared for that at all and the car lurched forward much further than she expected.
