I hate modern pop music for one thing: Auto-Tune. The majority of all popular songs today seem to use it. I honestly don't think I've heard T-Pain sing without it but I'm sure he would sound like a whale being bludgeoned if he didn't. Same with like Lil Wayne in Lollipop and Kanye West in Heartless. Basically in a nutshell, anyone can sound talented with Auto-Tune even if their voice sounds like a woman's when she's being raped. I personally think they sound annoying using it and they sound a lot like robots. For those of you who don't know what auto-tune is: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Auto_tune A video proving that anyone can use it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3aN1X_H2zjg
What an original thread. You should pleased with yourself. You're very smart.
I don't think that's the biggest reason. Maybe it's the lack of talent.

Well, it fits in some songs to be honest. But I agree, they can't sing without it, mostly.
What ever happened to Duran Duran and the likes.
I thought it was because it all pretty much sounds the same.
Pop music has always been crap
who the fuck cares what artists use, As long as it sounds good
who the fuck cares what artists use, As long as it sounds good
That's a terrible attitude to have towards anything.
who the fuck cares what artists use, As long as it sounds good
Shame it normally doesn't. Someone could pour their heart and soul into a piece of music, crafting a masterpiece from every sound he/she and his/her band can muster, that moves all who listen, yet be over shadowed by someone who get's a machine to do it for them. [editline]08:10PM[/editline]
Pop music has always been crap
:what: Dig deeper man.
That's a terrible attitude to have towards anything.
Is it really? Why would anything other than the end product for music be important. Surely the main point of music is to sound good.
Is it really? Why would anything other than the end product for music be important. If you just push a button, and there it is, I don't think that really counts.
Seriously, fuck all the people thinking LOL PRESSING ONE BUTTON I HAS POP SONG. There's more work in the studio than you think.
Obviously that's not the literal translation of what we're saying. Yes, work goes into it, but rarely by the artist it's published under.
That's a terrible attitude to have towards anything.
damn straight if it doesn't have complex time signatures and deep lyrics (aka my homies TOOL), fuck em
