These spiders (top) came from a brown, round nest. This type of wasp is known as a Mud Dauber (bottom), and has been building it near my door.. I opened the nest and these freshly dead spiders fell from it. Any clue why?

Because their babies eat the spiders.
how are the bodies still there and intact if they eat them?
EDIT: unless its stockpiling for when the babies hatch?
I want to know why you were opening a wasp's nest. Sounds like a death wish.
Holy shit. Those are some big ass spiders(compared to the ones I see). Is that a Black Widow at the top?

indeed it is.
neat looking wasp
If one of those built a nest near my house, I'd keep it. I fucking hate spiders
Just looking at that makes me cringe.
indeed it is.
Jesus :byodood:
Oh lord. Spiders. *cringe*
That wasp looks badass though.
Black and yellow mud-daubers primarily prey on relatively small, colorful spiders, such as crab spiders (and related groups), orb weavers and some jumping spiders. They usually find them in and around vegetation.
Blue mud-daubers prefer immature black widow spiders and their relatives. They hunt them in dry areas, such as outbuildings, rocky areas and stone piles.
If I had one of those near my house. I'd hit it so hard.
Oh shit that wasp saved your life throw him a party :toot:
The wasps are guarding your house from spiders.
Daww...

I've never seen a wasp like that.

Oh I made sure that big bitch wasn't anywhere near that nest. Also, so it would build it somewhere other than my door. :\
indeed it is.
neat looking wasp
Yes it is indeed an interesting wasp, but, it behaves rather aggressively... D:

It's a catch-22, I'm glad it's killing spiders... But please do it elsewhere, not on my door. :[
There were a million of the fucking mud wasps in my backyard the other day, it was like a giant fight for the mud
Spiders, Spiders everywhere
hmm, i thought this was about the history of spiders, what did they evolve from..
If I found one of those near my house... I'd move away.
God dammit, that immage! It feels like they crawl all over my body :ohdear:
those aren't wasps, there Dirt Dobbers, and there total pussies, they don't even sting.
sup.
Hey.
Fuck all that, where do you live so I can stay away?
they wasps have been protecting humans since the beginning of time.
Here's the thing with wasps.
A bee will sting you if you threaten the hive. A spider will sting you if they feel like you are intruding on its personal space.
A wasp will sting you just for the ever living fuck of it.
OP, you have no chance to survive make your time.
ATTENTION.
technically a wasp, but they don't sting and they usually run from you if disturbed.
They get little globs of mud on their legs, and fly off and build little test tub nests. They fill them with spiders for their young maggots to feed on.
