Petition to get GTA V released on PC reaches over 65,000 supporters - Polidicks

Rockstar hasn’t entirely ruled out GTA V getting a PC or Wii U release in the future, in fact Dan Houser, a vice president at Rockstar games, said that everything was up for consideration and a port could be on the cards. PC fans might not be happy with just a port though, as reflected in some of the comments on the petition. Many people would agree that it doesn’t make sense for Rockstar to skip a PC release — it would make them a lot of money as well as keep fans happy. Plus everyone wants to see what the modders come up with next. Of course the company will have to balance those two factors with the additional development costs, tradeoffs (would this delay DLC on the primary releases?), the quality of the final product (presumably they would need to rush it out the door), and any concerns the might have about piracy. There’s no official release date for GTA V on PS3/Xbox 360 yet so it’s too early to rule out a PC version, but a petition with a serious amount of backers never did any harm. Once the petition reaches 100,000 signatures it’s going to be pretty tough for Rockstar to ignore it, especially considering that those 100,000 people could be seen as the vocal minority. Signing it might be pointless, but it can't do any harm. Ever since Dark Souls I think that petitions do have the desired effect as long as enough people bother. Kind of shitty we need to resort to this to get a confirmation for a PC release though. Can't they just outsource it to Rockstar Toronto like they did with GTA IV PC.

I'm used to rockstar delaying PC launch, this petition is stupid.

Petitions rarely make a difference, but I think Rockstar will release GTA V for the PC anyway. After all, GTA IV, SA were released to the PC some months/year after it was released to the console

We just need to wait the 6 extra months. Just like every other time. Silly petition won't change that fact so I doesn't matter even if the petition had 1,000,000 supporters. Stop whining and go cry in the corner for six months.

They pretend that a PC release won't be coming to make extra sales on consoles, then they release a port for PC gamers to purchase it for the second time.

They are making it on consoles first, and THEN the PC. As much as I hate this, that's how it works and it means that they can't make the PC version before finishing the console version. That's what I think is the reason, at least I signed because why not, even though I'm sure that it'll be on PC eventually regardless.

I don't know if they have some highly secret contract with Sony to release the games on PS's first. But seeing how bad port GTAIV was for the PC, I gladly give them that extra 6 months to work on it. Granted that they would do a proper port this time around.

I've not tried LCS, but I actually really liked Vice City Stories, it played out pretty damn well. I just want a good port of it. I'll happily wait a year if it guarantees that I get one that's going to work effectively and not leave me with a mouse feeling like I'm dragging my way throug jelly. I also hope it's a bit more like SA than 4, 4 took itself a bit too seriously, just like Saints Row 3 let itself down by taking itself too comically.
