• Trouble wiring up a Router.

Got a question. Hooking up a router at work, but the main feed is off of a DSL line. Normaly, I thought the DSL line was supposed to go to a modem first, and then the modem connects to the router? But this DSL line just goes straight to a wall jack and then connects to a computer. The router I'm trying to hook up is a CISCO 871 (The wired one.) Here's a picture of the back: The WAN is the input?

You need to get a DSL modem, and then connect the DSL cable to the modem and the "WAN" Port of the DSL Modem to the "WAN" port of the router.
Get a DSL Modem, Or a DSL Router. WAN Stands for Wide Area Network
Sorry, I lied, the DSL goes from the walljack and then splits off. The CAT 5 cable has 4 pairs (blue, orange, green, brown) with 1 of each pair going to a 'puck.' The puck has a RJ11 jack in it(Maybe the puck acts as a modem?) and then it connects to the client's wireless router. The wireless router can't have a built in modem, so I'm thinking maybe the modem is hidden up in the ceiling or something. Going to go check today.
What is going on here?
