Members of a Missouri-based KKK chapter have been distributing fliers in the St. Louis metro area and on social media promising to use "lethal force" against Ferguson protesters they say have threatened police officers and their families.
In the flier, the Traditionalist American Knights of the Ku Klux Klan refer to the protesters as "terrorists" masquerading as peaceful, and says that they have "awakened a sleeping giant."
"You have been warned by the Ku Klux Klan!" the flier exclaims. "There will be consequences for your acts of violence against the peaceful, law-abiding citizens of Missouri."

Ancona's group is claiming that weeks of demonstrations have boosted its recruitment of new members.
"These Ferguson protesters are the best recruiters since Obama," Ancona remarked to the Riverfront Times this week, adding that he has inducted 50 new Klansmen this month alone. "Normally we might hear from 10 people a week in Missouri, and now we're hearing from more like 50 people a week. Sometimes, depending on these news stories, we get 100, 200 calls in a day."

Deep-running racial tensions have intensified in St. Louis since Brown's killing — and some protesters told VICE News someone left a noose in a camp they had set up on a Ferguson main road. As anticipation has grown over the grand jury announcement expected later this month, protesters have prepared by training activists in crowd control, developing support networks to respond in the event of arrests, and holding workshops on first-aid care and live streaming.
Police departments across the area have meanwhile spent $100,000 on riot gear and have undergone "fair policing" trainings run by the Department of Justice. St. Louis residents have ominously described the preparations as "apocalyptic" and "ready for war." Governor Nixon noted on Tuesday that he has the National Guard on standby.
As we wait for the decision of the grand jury to come down, tensions slowly approach the boiling point. I find it unlikely that Wilson will be indicted, and in the event that he isn't, protests WILL reignite. I can only hope that the police demonstrate some actual restraint this time, and that shit-stirring crackpots like the KKK don't attempt to follow up on their threats to make a bad situation even worse.
First of all I'm not american so I'm probably wrong but could someone please explain me what's the deal with all that racism?
USAs territory was first habited by Native Indians, then the Whites came and brought with them Black slaves. Hispanic people could also access the country due to being "relatively" close. There are also lots of Asian communities that came seeking work. In the last decades the new transportation tech has made people from all around the world be able to reach the country too.
It is a country built by the hard work of all those races, that lands should nobody's land and at the same time everybody's
I always though USA should be a multicultural haven, a place where there is so much mixing that racism becomes non-existent, I guess I was a fool.
KKK and Satanists these days are just the coolest guys i swear

Multiculturalism doesn't mean there isn't going to be some conflict between ethnicities/races inside a country. And throughout the U.S' history it has been a common and popular belief that the only "True Americans" were white natural-born protestants and some people still unfortunately carry that belief.
Hell we had actually had a law that stopped people from China from coming over until it was repealed in 1943.

Certain people that got there first (notably Europeans) who had means to quickly establish themselves didn't take too kindly to the other people that came later. Essentially, each generation of immigrants to America became more intolerant to the next generation of immigrants.
Has the reason for the Winner ratings gone over my head or something cause KKK don't seem like winners to me

I'm a bit baffled at that too. Facepunch has grown increasingly ignorant of racial issues over the past few years, but I never thought I'd see the day that people were literally supporting Ku Klux Klan lynch mobs. Like, wow, fuck me.
Pretty sure that would bring down unfathomable levels of government agencies as doing something like that TODAY is domestic terrorism and gets the blistering might of the US anti terrorism machine pointed right at them

I think people are just sick about hearing about this (myself, tired of all of this stupid racism this and racism that) and now that somebody is standing up and trying to stop it gives people a sense of relief.
Edit:I never said I supported KKK. I merely stated that I'm tired of seeing racist protests everywhere I look.

I honestly cannot understand how progressives who care so much about the rights of oppressed groups, like the Ferguson protestors, do not see the right to bear arms as one of the most vital. When your police force is not only unhelpful but occasionally violent towards you, when your state's authorities rwspond to protests by deploying paramilitary forces, and when the KKK is literally threatening to murder you for protesting, the purpose of the Second Amendment becomes crystal clear.
It's not meant to protect hunters or collectors. It is meant to enshrine your access to weapons that let you defend yourself against those who mean you ill, whether those people are authoritarian police or racial fanatics.

I never said I supported KKK. I merely stated that I'm tired of seeing racist protests everywhere I look. The mentality makes sense to me. I'm just fucking sick of the senseless race wars.
I hope the protesters shoot back c:

Do you not see the irony in stating that you're sick of hearing these protestors whining about racism and are just happy to see somebody standing up and trying to stop them, when the people standing up to stop them are the Ku Klux Klan?
if guns were restricted in some way the racist groups wouldnt have them, police would have to scale back armories for the reduced population with guns, and the protesters wouldn't be shot as much
That wouldn't happen. Assault weapons are illegal in California, yet (as we saw in Oakland) the police are equipped with AR15s, MRAPs, and full body armor.

Imagine being so absorbed into this "goddamn progressives ruining everything" mentality that "whining about racism" is a greater annoyance than literal lynching threats.
Has the reason for the Winner ratings gone over my head or something cause KKK don't seem like winners to me
it might be because the message they sent sounds kind of good at its base- "There will be consequences for your acts of violence against the peaceful, law-abiding citizens of Missouri."
the problem starts when, as my understanding of this whole thing through all the news we keep seeing, boils down to:
> majorly white police force militarizes in reaction to attempted peaceful protests from impoverished black population in a racist area
> lots of people getting arrested on shit pretenses because they're at the protests, nobody seems to remember the first amendment for once
> SOMEHOW the situation keeps escalating, we just don't understand why they won't stop protesting!
now with the lovely addition of
> historically racist asshole brigade steps up to say they're explicitly siding with the cops
> warn that if the protesters step out of line they'll go judge dredd and kill people
> man we still don't understand why the blacks are so upset! I mean we're TOTALLY being peaceful, law-abiding citizens by militarizing, directly threatening people with the promise of lynch mob quality shootings, and continuing to tell protesters to just shut up already!

Actually, please report this. Apart from it being stupidly stereotypical it's going to be used as fodder for people who say the internet is full of racists.

Today's KKK isn't like the KKK of yesteryear. Just like the majority of everyone else in this country, they've gone all soft, too.
They're just like a motorcycle gang today. Less of a gang, more of a club. Except without the bikes.

How is your point in any way related to his post? Also in regard to you saying they've gotten soft:
they are openly threatening violence you nimrod
if guns were restricted in some way the racist groups wouldnt have them, police would have to scale back armories for the reduced population with guns, and the protesters wouldn't be shot as much
No, no we wouldnt. Thats terrible logic

Except they're still a racist organization that, during the Ferguson event alone, are openly threatening to kill black people, burning crosses, and leaving nooses at protest sites. Just because they're not barricading the exits and burning down blues clubs anymore doesn't mean that their goals, motivations, and general philosophies have changed.

You might have misheard that Klan member when you think they said they don't like bikes.

Oh fuck, these idiots are going to make the world burn, and I'm going to laugh at it for every minute.
this entire thing was just a cop defending himself from an attacker and now it seems with the media just stirring the fucking pot to get attention this has now festered into a real problem.
what is this world coming to?

when i constantly hear African Americans walk around my school saying "if that police officer gets off im gonna bash some heads in" and stuff like "kirkwood better call off school if he gets off or people are gonna get hurt" i can understand someone rating this winner. They have been threatening my school for the past 3 weeks, along with saying shit like "The black man cant do nothin about the white mans system"
